More Korean and Japanese contents are coming in Disney+!
On November 21, a star-studded APAC content showcase was held and at the said event, the upcoming slate of Disney+ APAC Originals was revealed. It captivated the audience with major reveals, first looks, and appearances from some of Korea and Japan’s biggest stars, demonstrating the unparalleled strength and appeal of Disney’s creative excellence.
The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific also confirmed that the second season of the hit action fantasy series, Moving is in development following the company’s successful collaboration with Moving and Lightshop Keeper creator Kang Full. First launched in 2023, Moving became a huge hit globally.
Here is the list of APAC titles that were unveiled at the showcase as part of the company’s late 2024, and 2025-2026 content slate:
Korean Series
1. The Murky Stream
Starring: Rowoon, Shin Ye Eun, Park Seo Ham, and Park Ji Hwan
Synopsis: Set in the Joseon dynasty where the crystal clear Gyeonggang River turned into a murky stream. It tells the story of the turbulent fates of three individuals.
2. The Manipulated
Starring: Ji Chang Wook, Doh Kyung Soo, Lee Kwang Soo, and Jo Yoon Su
Synopsis: It depicts the story of a man named Tae Joong who seeks revenge after being sent to prison because of a heinous crime he didn’t commit.
3. Light Shop Keeper
Starring: Ju Ji Hoon, Park Bo Young, Bae Seong Woo, Lee Jung Eun, Uhm Tae Goo, Seolhyun, Park Hyuk Kwon, Kim Dae Myung, Shin Eun Soo, Kim Sun Hwa, Kim Min Ha, and Kim Ki Hae.
Synopsis: Light Shop Keeper is a webtoon-based series by the same name that tells the story of six strangers who are battling a traumatic event from their past. They are mysteriously drawn to a light shop that is situated at the end of a seedy alleyway. These people have stories to tell, and the light shop could hold the key to their past, present, and future.
4. Unmasked
Starring: Kim Hye Soo and Jung Sung Il
Synopsis: It tells the story of investigative journalists who are fighting for their careers after broadcasting a controversial story. They have to accomplish impossible tasks to save their jobs.
5. Hyper Knife
Starring: Park Eun Bin, Sul Kyung Gu, Yoon Chan Young, and Park Byung Eun
Synopsis: Hyper Knife depicts the story of the intense conflict between Se Ok, a genius surgeon, and her mentor and supervising doctor, Deok Hee. Albeit Se Ok’s unparalleled skill with a scalpel, she finds herself tossed aside and stripped of her medical license which was caused by her mentor Deok Hee.
6. Knock-Off
Starring: Kim Soo Hyun and Jo Bo Ah
Synopsis: Knocked Off depicts the story of a man whose life is ruined in the wake of the ‘97 Asian financial crisis and finds himself drawn into a counterfeit market.
7. Nine Puzzles
Starring: Kim Da Mi and Son Suk Ku
Synopsis: This tells the story of a serial murder case that begins with a mysterious puzzle piece. Yoon Yi Na was the only murder witness 10 years ago, but Detective Kim Han Saem is suspicious of her and believes she is the suspect.
8. Low Life
Starring: Ryu Seung Ryong, Yang Se Jong, and Im Soo Jung
Synopsis: depicts the story of finding treasures in a sunken ship that has been lost for generations at the bottom of the ocean. It is based on a webtoon the story is inspired by the 1975 incident where a sunken ship was discovered off the coast of Sinan, South Korea.
9. Tempest
Starring: Gang Dong Won and Gianna Jun
Synopsis: Tempest tells the story of a diplomat and an international special agent who try to unfold the truth behind the attack that threatens the future stability of the Korean peninsula.
10. Made in Korea
Starring: Hyun Bin and Jung Woo Sung
Synopsis: Made In Korea is set in the turbulent 1970s and depicts the story of intense tension between Baek Ki Tae, an ambitious man who has a desire for wealth and power, and Jang Gun Young, a dedicated prosecutor who does everything to stop him. They will find themselves involved in an era-defining incident that will forever change their futures.
Japanese Contents
1. Medalist
Synopsis: Tells the story of a figure skating coach Tsukasa, a man haunted by his past failures, who works tirelessly to mold his latest student into a championship medalist.
2. Go! Go! Loser! Ranger! 2
Synopsis: A thrilling animated series that tells the story of the battle between the mighty Dragon Keepers and the Villainous Army of Evil.
3. Wandance
Synopsis: A shy and reserved boy commits to a life-changing decision to win the heart of a free-spirited girl who loves to dance.
4. Bullet Bullet
Synopsis: Tells a story of a team of thieves for hire who find themselves in a world of trouble after completing their latest job.
5. Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Animation
Synopsis: this upcoming anime series transports viewers to the prestigious Night Raven College, an arcane academy where magic lives in every corner.
6. CAT’S EYE
Synopsis: CAT’S EYE is about three sisters who run a café by day and who secretly work as art thieves by night.
7. Gannibal Season 2
Synopsis: Police officer Daigo tries to escape from the terrifying world of Kuge Village and tries to stop the cannibals responsible.
8. Traveling With Snow Man
A Japanese reality series that features members of J-Pop idol band Snow Man embarking on a fun adventure.
