D.O. successfully held his first-ever sold-out 2-day “Bloom” fan concert tour in Manila!
After 7 years of waiting, PH EXO-Ls and Dandanies reunite with their precious penguin, Doh Kyung Soo, also known as D.O., at his first-ever 2-day sold-out “Bloom” fan concert tour in Manila, held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last August 31 and September 1.
The Big Dome was filled with ecstatic fans and a beautiful silver ocean! Let us relive all the wonderful and exciting moments we had during the first day of his tour here in Manilla.
Opening Performance
The crowd warmly welcomed D.O. with loud cheers as he entered the stage serenading everyone with his song, Mars, the lead single under his third and latest EP, Blossom. “Mabuhay Philippines! Ako si Doh Kyung Soo”, he greeted us enthusiastically. “It’s been such a long time, right? Long time no see. Have you guys been doing well? You guys were healthy, right? You know I can’t even remember how long it has been since I last came to the Philippines, I really missed you guys. Are you guys ready to have fun tonight?”
He oozes charm with his new hairstyle and when the host of the event, Denise Laurel, asked him about his change in look, Kyung Soo responded that it was for his role in his upcoming drama and PH Dandanies and EXO-Ls were the first ones who see it. “My hair is kind of neat at this moment but if you see the drama, it will be a whole different thing,” he added.
He said he missed his Filipino fans so much and it’s been 7 years since he came here, “I didn’t expect that the heat would be this hot. I think that the heat is as hot as how much you waited for me right? That’s enough for me already, let’s have fun tonight,” he added.
According to D.O., he chose the title “Bloom” for his fan concert because since his newly released album is called “Blossom,” he thought that the audience could bloom beautifully while watching the event. “But you know, you guys have bloomed already,” he pointed out.
BLOOM-ing Moments with Kyung Soo
The show officially started with a segment called “KyungSoo in BLOOM.” In this segment D.O. had to choose among those six beautiful flowers – Morning Glory, Daisy, Lilac, Evening Primrose, Sunflower, and Rosemary which D.O. drew, in participation for this event. During this segment, D.O. expressed his love for food in “Food Balancing Game” and talked about some of his past projects, particularly Bad Prosecutor and The Moon.
Moreover, in the “Guess the Song title” game, the fans got to hear him sing some of EXO’s hits such as Lotto, My Answer, El Dorado, First Snow, and Christmas Day. He has such a very great voice! He also read some questions from the fans written on a sticky note, D.O. granted wishes as well and sang, Sam Smith’s Call Me When It’s Over – his favorite song, Bruno Mar’s Billionaire, his song, I’m Fine, and Frank Sinatra’s Fly Me to the Moon.
In the “To DO List” segment, he sang more songs to us such as Yeng Constantino’s Hawak Kamay, his songs, Wonder, and Rose, Amber, Luna, and Krysta’s Goodbye Summer, and Lee Young Ji’s Small Girl. We had so much fun listening to his angelic voice, it was all so fantastic!
Kyung Soo’s Captivating Vocals
In the second part of the show, D.O. performed more beautiful songs of his – Simple Joys, That’s Okay, I Do, My Dear, Ordinary Days, Good Night, About Time, and Somebody. The fans were in sync in shouting the fan chant during D.O.’s Popcorn performance, and D.O. said that he appreciated it so much because everyone sang it very well.
Moreover, PH EXO-Ls and Dandanies expressed their immense love for D.O. by preparing a special video message for him. He was so touched and promised that he would be back very soon, he’d take care of himself and come back “So please wait for me, okay?” he said.
The fans also prepared a hand banner and put lampshade banners near the event venue area. Good job and congratulations guys!
For his last message, D.O. reminded everyone to drink warm water when they get home because their voice is so precious and to eat samgyupsal for at least good for two people because they used a lot of energy during the show. He’s so sweet and so caring to all of his fans. He said he would come back with a better project. “Thank you so much, Philippines! Annyeong! Bye Bye! See you!” He’s so adorable.
