“Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born” is coming exclusively to Disney+ on October 12!

Set in the post-war era, Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born is a webtoon-based series that follows the story of a woman named Jeong Nyeon who aspires to become one of the best performers in Korean female classical opera. She grows as she competes with her biggest rival, Young Seo.
Starring Kim Tae Ri, she will transform into the role of Yoon Jeong Nyeon, a trainee of Maeran GukGeuk Theater Company who has big dreams and an incredible voice, she will do everything she can to achieve her dreams.
This is Kim Tae Ri’s series, following the mystery thriller 2023 series, Revenant. She is also remarkable for her roles in the dramas, Mr. Sunshine and Twenty Five, Twenty One. She also showcased her acting prowess in various films such as The Handmaiden, Little Forest, Space Sweepers, and Alienoid Part 1 and 2.
On the other hand, Shin Ye Eun portrays the role of Heo Young Seo, a trainee also of Maeran GukGeuk Theater Company, the biggest rival of Jeong Nyeon.
Shin Ye Eun is a versatile actress who is known for her roles in the series, He is Psychometric, Yumi’s Cells 2, The Glory, and The Secret Romantic Guesthouse.
Moreover, Ra Mi Ran, Jung Eun Chae, and Kim Yoon Hye are also included in the powerhouse cast members of this series.
Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born is penned by writer Choi Hyo Bi who previously worked in the series, A Time Called You, and helmed by director Jung Ji In who is known for her previous work, The Red Sleeve.
The series is produced by the leading entertainment company CJ ENM’s production powerhouse Studio Dragon based in Korea.
