Disney+ reveals an action-packed 2024 Korean slate!
Disney+ would continue to build on the early success of its local original content with an exciting expansion of its 2024 Korean slate following the success of the release of its original series, Big Bet and Moving.
Below is the list of the most anticipated action-packed Korean shows coming to Disney+ this 2024.
1. Blood Free
Starring: Han Hyo Joo and Ju Ji Hoon
Synopsis: Depicts the story of a former bodyguard who finds himself recruited to protect the CEO of a controversial lab-grown meat company who is also a survivor of the fateful attack that changed his life.
2. Unmasked
Starring: Kim Hye Soo
Synopsis: It tells the story of investigative journalists who are fighting for their careers after broadcasting a controversial story. They have to accomplish impossible tasks to save their jobs.
3. The Tyrant
Starring: Kim Seon Ho, Cha Seung Won, and Kim Kang Woo
Synopsis: Tyrant depicts the story of the disappearance of the last sample of the “Tyrant Program” due to a delivery accident and the people who have different motives in claiming it.
4. Gangnam B-Side
Starring: Ji Chang Wook, Ha Yoon Kyung, and Jo Woo Jin
Synopsis: A thrilling crime drama that tells the story of a detective who will delve back into a world of vice, drugs, and corruption to uncover something that threatens to topple some of the city’s wealthiest elite.
5. The Zone Survival Mission Season 3
Starring: Yoo Jae Suk, Kwon Yuri, Kim Dong Hyun, and YouTuber Dex
Synopsis: Yoo Jae Suk, Kwon Yuri along with the new hosts will get up to more hijinks than ever before as they try to survive an increasingly complex range of challenges.
6. Uncle Samsik
Starring: Song Kang Ho and Byun Yo Han
Synopsis: Set in the early 1960s, Sam Sik and Kim San join hands to transform a struggling post-war Korea into a prosperous country.
7. Light Shop
Starring: Park Bo Young and Ju Ji Hoon
Synopsis: Light Shop tells the story of various people who are mysteriously drawn to a light shop that is situated at the end of a seedy alleyway. These people have their stories to tell, and the light shop could hold the key to the people’s pasts, presents, and futures.
The series is adapted for the screen by Kang Full and will be helmed by actor Kim Hee Won, who previously appeared in Disney+’s series, Han River Police and Moving.
8. Red Swan
Starring: Rain and Kim Haneul
Synopsis: Red Swan depicts the story of a woman named Oh Wan Soo, who agrees to marry Kim Yong Guk because she’s struggling to clear her mother’s debt. She becomes unhappy when she discovers her husband’s infidelity. Despite all that, she stayed with him for over ten years determined to make their marriage work, but things quickly begin to change on the biggest night of her life when she meets and falls in love with Seo Do Yoon who saved her life. Little does she know that Do Yoon has an ulterior motive for approaching her.
9. Chief Detective 1958
Starring: Lee Je Hoon, Lee Dong Hwi, Choi Woo Sung, and Yoon Hyun Soo
Synopsis: Depicts the story of a young detective, Park Young Han, who teams up with his three passionate detectives to fight crimes in society.
Meanwhile, The Impossible Heir, Flex X Cop, Wonderful World, Moving, and Vigilante are some of the dramas that are now streaming on Disney+!
