6 Reasons Why “To All The Guys Who Loved Me” Should Be On Your Watch List

At first I thought it has the same story as “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” because of their titles. But after watching the first four episodes I realized that it was more than just a girl telling the story about her love life. It was about a girl who felt how it was like to be loved and the pain that comes from it. Because of a dream that she had when she was young, destroyed the image of marriage for her.

Here are the reasons why you should give it a try :

1. The Story

The web that connects each characters can get all tangled up with one wrong move. With just four episodes, it already filled my mind with so many questions. The thrill of knowing and not knowing at the same time leaves me by the edge of my seat as I am left hanging and waiting for a new episode to air to check if my hunch is right.

Nonetheless the story is the complete package! If you love mystery, comedy, romance, and slight angst, this one is for you.

2. Hwang Jung Eum’s Charm

After Mystic Pop Up Bar, Hwang Jung Eum as Seo Hyun Joo, an example of strength! After all that she had been through she never gave up, not even once. Her undying devotion and infinite positivity will surely inspire you.

3. Mama Fairy and Woodcutter Feels!

Our yin and yang is back!

Yoon Hyun Min and Seo Ji Hoon are finally back to capture and at the same time break our hearts once again. Both of them have a story to tell and we’ll just have to wait for their story to unfold. But the biggest question will be is, who will win between the two of them in the end.

4. Familiar Faces

There are a lot of familiar faces that you will see in this drama. So far there are three characters worth mentioning:

a. Jo Woo Ri – I disliked her character in My ID is Gangnam Beauty, and I have a feeling that I would feel the same way with her in this drama. But so far, there is nothing to get anxious with so let’s chill for now.

b. Lee Hwang Eui – He’s the mysterious adviser of Prime Minister Koo Seo Ryeong‘s in The King : Eternal Monarch. In this drama he plays quite a similar role. He is Hwang Ji Woo’s (Yoon Hyun Min) secretary. He handles everything Hwang Jo Woo asked him to.

c. Yoon Sun Woo – I disliked him in Moon Lovers : Scarlet Ryeo and admire him in Hot Stove League. I am not sure if he has a bigger role for the drama or just a cameo. I just found it intriguing that his name, Sun Woo, happens to be the name of the Pharmaceutical Company owned by Hwang Ji Woo. Or maybe it’s just a coincidence or not. Hahaha. Sometimes I just love overthinking.

5. The Journey

After watching the first four episodes, I am already caught up with Hyun Joo‘s story. I want to see her journey and at the same time learn her past to understand how she became the person she is now. Would she be able to heal her pain? Would she be able to change her mind about marriage? Would she finally fall in love? I am excited to see where her journey would take me.

6. Society at its finest

What makes a drama closer to life? When the story shows you a glimpse of what we experience in reality.

a. Rumors – It amazes me to watch several dramas that tackles this. This time, it’s about judging someone who never went out on a date with women. Because of this, rumors started spreading that he is gay.

b. Men are superior and women are not- This issue was tackled twice in this drama and it’s just sad that this kind of discrimination still exists today.

c. Can’t Women Live Happily without getting married? – The pressure that society place on woman who are over 30 years old and who are  still single is no joke. There is one particular scene in this drama that I love, which contradicts this belief. How can you love someone else if you don’t even know how to love yourself.

I am looking forward for more lessons, laughter, a bit of crying and a lot of love from this drama. So if you are looking for something mysterious, filled with laughter with a dash of tears and a lot of love, this one is for you.

The drama is still ongoing and airs every Monday – Tuesday released by KBS Network.
