Finally! Park Min Young meets her PH MY Beans!

Ahead of Park Min Young’s first-ever fan meeting “MY Brand New DAY” here in Manila, a press conference was held on May 11 where she shared her thoughts about her acting career and what she feels about the success of her recent drama, Marry My Husband.

Park Min Young started her career journey in a 2006 hit sitcom, High Kick. She continued to appear in various dramas and got her career breakthrough with the series, Sungkyunkwan Scandal in 2010.

Min Young is known for her versatility and her diverse acting prowess in the dramas, City Hunter, Healer, Remember, Queen for Seven Days, What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim, Her Private Life, When The Weather is Fine, Forecasting Love and Weather, Love in Contract, and her recent hit webtoon-based series, Marry My Husband.

Park Min Young’s Acting Career

In the press conference, we had the chance to learn more about Park Min Young and delve into her thoughts about her acting career.

She is known for her impeccable acting prowess and showed a wide spectrum of her acting skills in various dramas, when asked about what kind of character she wants to portray in her future project she answered, that she wants to portray a completely different role from her various projects.

Min Young also mentioned that among all the roles she portrayed, Kim Yoon Hee (Sungkyunkwan Scandal), Kim Mi So (What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim), and Kang Ji Won (Marry My Husband) are the most memorable characters for her, “I had a hard time playing these characters but it’s so meaningful to me cause they all motivated me to be better as an actor and as a human being, also, so they are so memorable for me”

Park Min Young shared her secret for her great portrayal of her roles and said that she pictures herself in the projects she stars in and she’s comfortable with rom-com genres since she did a lot of rom-com dramas according to her, the highlight of her acting career is yet to come. “I still have a lot of stories to tell, roles to play, and messages to deliver.”

To sum up her acting career she said she’s an actress who makes people watch whatever work she does.

The Success of her recent Drama, “Marry My Husband”

Park Min Young recently starred in a webtoon-based drama, Marry My Husband opposite Na In Woo, the series received so much love from the viewers and became a hit globally! She shared what she feels about the success of the drama and said, “What can I say, it was truly amazing moments to witness that rating success not only in Korea but also in different countries. So, I was so grateful for everything”.

Min Young played the role of Kang Ji Won, a character who is weak at first but overcomes her weaknesses and grows stronger as a woman. She said, a woman should have the self-respect to overcome their weaknesses and if they do that, they are more valuable than they think. “Self-respect is the keyword”, she pointed out.

Moreover, she also mentioned that if she could live in any drama she starred in, she would choose the role of Kang Ji Won who had the chance to go back in time because she wanted to go back to 2002 to play the role she didn’t play. “When I was playing that role (Kang Ji Won), I felt that I wanted to go back in time and enjoy it.”

Message to PH MY Beans

The press conference wrapped up with Park Min Young’s heartfelt message to PH MY Beans, “I always wanted to come here to the Philippines for you guys but I’m a little too late so I’m really sorry about that but now I’m here, I wanted to say, thank you so much for your love and support always. I love you guys all.” she’s the sweetest!

Furthermore, “Totoo ba?” is the Filipino word she learned during her short stay here. she said, she recently learned it and she liked the sound of it, “It’s so cute” she expressed.
