Park Min Young to play as a cancer patient on new tvN drama ‘Marry My Husband’
The upcoming 2024 tvN drama ‘Marry My Husband‘ starring Park Min Young, Na In Woo, Lee Yi Kyung, and Song Ha Yoon releases its official poster on December 4th.
Lead actress Park Min Young will play the role of Kang Ji Won, a cancer patient who got cheated on by her husband Park Min Hwan (played by Lee Yi Kyung). She witnessed her husband’s affair and died at the hands of her husband and her best friend Jung Soo Min (played by Song Ha Yoon).
Kang Ji Won is an ordinary woman who spends her days burdened by her incompetent husband, her neglectful in-laws, and a difficult work life. She lived her whole life just tolerating things at home and in her company. After finding out about having cancer and her unfortunate death, she was given a second chance in life and goes back to 10 years of her younger self. She plans to take revenge on Jung Soo Min and Park Min Hwan.
For this role, Min Young was revealed to drop her weight to 37 kilograms to realistically portray Kang Ji Won.
Kang Ji Won’s appearance is captured in the released photos, drawing attention. The hat, the hospital gown, the unrecognizable thin face, and the pale complexion cause viewers to become immersed in the story with the situation that feels real for Ji Won who is collapsing due to the difficult struggle with illness and a tiring life.
A representative from the production team of ‘Marry My Husband’ said, “Park Min Young did not spare any effort in many ways to realistically express the setting that she is a cancer patient. Everyone was surprised at the set.” “We can see the ever-changing temperature difference between Kang Ji Won before and after regression. We plan to portray it brilliantly, so please show a lot of interest.”, he added.
‘Marry My Husband’ is based on a popular webtoon with the same title and will air on January 1, 2024, at 8:50 PM KST on tvN.
