Get to know the talented and charismatic actor, Choi Hyunwook!
A lot of you probably have been captured by one of South Korea’s rising actors, Choi Hyunwook!

Although he just made his acting debut in 2019, Hyunwook already left a good impression on viewers with his irresistible charm and amazing acting skills. Some of his notable projects were Racket Boys, Twenty-Five Twenty-One, Weak Hero Class 1, and Twinkling Watermelon. He is currently signed under GOLDMEDALIST agency.

1. He is an Aquarius baby!
Hyunwook was born on January 30, 2002, in Incheon, South Korea.

2. A former baseball athlete
Years before deciding to be an actor, he was a baseball player from 3rd grade up to 1st year of high school. However, he was forced to stop as he suffered an elbow injury. He then left Gangneung High School and enrolled in Hanlim Multi Arts School to study Broadcasting and Entertainment.
3. Made his acting debut in 2019
He started acting in 2019 through the web drama “Real: Time: Love” as Moon Ye Chan. This series had 4 seasons and ran from 2020 – 2021.
Just a little trivia, Hyunwook mentioned that he decided to try acting after watching the movie Along with the Gods.
4. Won “Best New Actor” for Racket Boys and Taxi Driver
In 2021, he was casted on SBS dramas Racket Boys and Taxi Driver wherein he played Na Woochan, a badminton varsity player, and Park Seungtae, a school bully, respectively. With his impressive acting skills, he was given a Best New Actor award for the said series at the 2021 SBS Drama Awards.
In addition, he also won the Rookie Actor at Brand Customer Loyalty Award in 2022 and the Whynot Award at The 2nd Blue Dragon Series Awards in 2023 for Weak Hero Class 1.

5. Starred on Music Videos
His popularity also gained him castings in various music videos such as New Jeans’ Ditto and Lee Hi’s Alley and My Beloved.
6. Featured in fashion magazines
Hyunwook is not just an ace in acting, but he can definitely give models a run for their money! He was already featured in various Korean fashion magazines such as VOGUE, ELLE, W, GQ, and Cosmopolitan.

7. He loves the character Crayon Shin-chan
In his interview for GQ Korea, he mentioned that he loves Crayon Shinchan so much. He even received a keyring as a gift that’s always attached to his everyday bag.
8. He sang an OST for Twenty-Five Twenty-One!
Yes, he’s a sweetheart with a sweet voice!
Hyunwook, together with Nam Joohyuk, Kim Taeri, Bona, and Lee Joo Myung, sang an OST for their hit drama series Twenty-Five Twenty-One. You can watch their official music video on the link below.
9. Actor Son Suk Ku became his fan after filming D.P. 2
Hyunwook appeared in episode 4 of D.P. 2 as Shin Ahwi. Actor Son Suk Ku said in an interview that he became his fan after filming their scenes and looked up Hyunwook’s filmography. He was so amazed that despite being in the industry for just a short period of time, Hyunwook was already good at his craft.
Moreover, they both appeared in Jirisan but didn’t have a chance to act together as Hyunwook played the younger version of Sukku’s character.
