A fun-filled day with Park Min Young and PH MY Beans in “MY Brand New Day” Fan Meeting
The queen of rom-com, Park Min Young, has finally met her fans here in the Philippines! The Korean actress is known for her roles in “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?” “Healer,” “Love in Contract,” and many more like the recently concluded “Marry My Husband”.
Last May 12, Park Min Young held her first-ever fan meeting in the country at SM North EDSA Skydome entitled “MY Brand New Day”. It was indeed a special time she shared with the fans, where we created beautiful memories together.
Here are some of the memorable things worth looking back to that night:
Welcoming Park Min Young
The show opened with heartfelt cheers from the crowd as the beautiful Park Min Young entered with a song cover of “Bad Liar,” an OST for “Marry My Husband” by (G)I-dle’s Yuqi.
“Kumusta po kayo? Ako si Park Min Young,” she greeted the fans with her angelic smile. She said that she’s happy to see fans much closer, compared to during the press conference that took place the day before.
When asked why she chose “Bad Liar” for the opening, she shared that it’s a song that expresses herself as Park Min Young since she did her best for the drama and wants fans to support “Marry My Husband”.
Getting to know actress Min Young
In an interview-like segment, Filipino MY Beans got to learn more about Min Young and some behind-the-scenes stories about her work. For one, she shared about doing flying yoga for a role. As Min Young is known as an icon of self-care, she said that she makes sure to exercise and keep a good posture always.
When asked about “Marry My Husband,” she expressed how she felt relieved that the drama gained a lot of good responses. She shared that the hardest times in filming the drama were the first parts as she was so thin back then. Her swimming scene was also shown, and she said that it was her first time to swim with eyes open so she struggled with that aside from breathing underwater.
When her scenes with Na In Woo in “Marry My Husband” were flashed, the fans had hot responses. Min Young shared that she had already experienced action scenes during City Hunter but her opponent there was relatively smaller than In Woo, so she had to practice a lot more to flip a tall person over.
Meaningful time with fans
Through a lucky draw, some fans were able to come up on stage and take special photos with Min Young. They were given some props to re-create certain still cuts from “Marry My Husband”!
For the Q&A segment, Min Young selected some notes that fans wrote for the question board before the fan meeting started. When asked about her mantra, Min Young shared that she tends to say positive things to herself like “Just do it!” as she has a difficult job.
In “Marry My Husband,” Min Young’s character liked to listen to BTS, so she got asked if she was also a fan of BTS in real life. She said yes, and shared that she likes all K-pop idols but prefers girl groups! Moreover, she was asked about her next rom-com project. Although she stated that her next work might not be a rom-com, she said she will consider the genre after.
Lastly, the fans played a game with Min Young where she had to choose between two options and the fans had to guess her answer. The fans who got the most correct answers had the chance to take a Polaroid photo with the Korean actress.
During the game, some of Min Young’s answers were that she’d want to go scuba diving in Bohol and watch the sunset at Boracay Beach. She also shared that she loves calamansi juice, but would like to try halo-halo in the future.
Gifts for Filipino MY Beans
Upon entering the venue, the fans were given gifts that were prepared by Min Young. The planner really fits with the fan meeting’s theme as it feels like we’re spending our days with Min Young!
She also crafted a customized eco-bag that one lucky fan won. She said she chose to do this as she enjoys making things that are one of a kind.
Meanwhile, Filipino MY Beans prepared a fan video for her. Afterwards, Min Young thanked the fans for making good memories with her. She shared that as an actress, she gets the biggest strength from fans and the only way she can repay fans’ love is to do her best in acting.
Min Young further expressed her sincere thoughts by reading the handwritten letter she dedicated to the fans.
Impressive performances
One of the highlights of Min Young’s fan meeting was when she sang a cover of “You & Me” by BLACKPINK’s Jennie. On top of that, she even performed an elegant dance with a partner! She shared that she prepared the dance performance as she wanted to show fans a new side of herself.
For the ending, Min Young once again wowed the fans with her lovely voice as she sang “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus. Overall, the fan meeting was really heartwarming as we saw how she prepared a lot for the fans.
“Thank you and see you again, maybe? Thank you for coming tonight and I really love you guys. Thank you,” she concluded. She also promised to come back again, so stay tuned for any updates as she said it’s already a spoiler!
