Netflix confirms Gong Yoo, Bae Doona, and Lee Joon to star new sci-fi thriller, “The Silent Sea”

Netflix confirmed on September 7 that Gong Yoo, Bae Doona, and Lee Joon will star in its Korean science fiction mystery thriller, The Silent Sea.

It will tell the story of special team members discharged to the moon to get a mysterious sample from an abandoned research station.

Gong Yoo, who many have known through Coffee Prince, Big, Goblin, Silenced, and Train to Busan, will be taking the role of Han Yun Jae.

He is the leader of the said special team who is tasked to complete the mentioned mission that has only few information about.

He takes good care of his members and always makes sure that their safety is the top priority.

While, Kingdom’s Bae Doona takes the role of Doctor Song Ji An, who is deployed to join Yun Jae’s team.

She is an astrobiologist who will reveal the truth regarding the accident happened at the research station in the moon.

Next, Father is Strange’s Lee Joon will be portraying the role of Captain Ryu Tae Seok, who volunteered to join the special team in hopes that he will be able to escape from the suffocating surrounding in the Ministry of National Defense.

The Silent Sea will be directed by Choi Hang Yong, who also took the lead of the short film with the same title.

He will join forces with writer Park Eun Kyo and executive producer (and actor) Jung Woo Sung.
