Fall in love with D.O.’s new mini album, “Blossom”
On May 7, D.O. released his third mini album, “Blossom” on various streaming platforms. He released music videos for both “Popcorn” and “Mars”.
Separated by distance, two lovers try to communicate through different means in “Mars”. The catchy lyrics and upbeat arrangement of the song gives it high replay value!
“Simple Joys” is a song that gives off vibes that you are in a meadow of flowers. The birds are chirping, giving a serene quality to the place. The flute in the chorus can be likened to the soft blow of the wind through the area. It is definitely a comfort song, especially with how it sings about finding excitement in the small things.
“Popcorn” was pre-released before the album. It is cheerful, and tells the adorable story of a lover that is absolutely smitten!
“Good Night” is a personal favorite. It is a comforting song that feels like it is sweeping you up in its arms and telling you to relax, even if just for a moment. In this song, D.O. tells you to let go of your worries and trust that you will always have him by your side. It sort of reminds me of EXO’s message for their latest album:
In “My Dear” D.O. serenades you, with the promise to always do his best for you. The song is not flamboyant in its declaration of love but this, coupled with the guitar, makes it a sincere and romantic one. However, with love comes loss. “About Time” talks about the regrets in a relationship after its end. D.O.’s beautiful voice manages to sound so endearing yet sad making the album’s ending bittersweet.
