The stories of BL (Boys Love) dramas always managed to catch my attention. It may have something to do with how they fight for their love, because no matter how much we want to deny it, some people still frown at the idea of boys loving other boys.

In some K-Dramas that I have watched, there are glimpses of such scenarios but it was never the main content of the story. Not until I met Sarawat and Tine from the Thai drama called 2gether.

I usually encounter these kind of stories in dramas from other countries but I never really got to watch a full Korean drama with this content, until I came across with “Where Your Eyes Linger“.

Where Your Eyes Linger tells the story of an heir of a company called TB Group, and his bodyguard. They call this relationship “Master and Servant” even if they have been friends for a long time. Being the son of the chairman of TB Group has its disadvantages and one of those is being separated from the rest of the world.

Han Tae Joo‘s only friend was his bodyguard Kang Gook (Jang Eui Soo). Han Tae Joo (Han Gi Chan) possesses a handsome face that usually gets him in trouble but Kang Gook was always on his side to save him, until he met Choi Hye Mi (Choi Kyu Ri).

I wanted to tell you more but then I would spoil the story. I want you to try it out, experience it and tell me what you think.

My Thoughts:

As I was writing this, I am listening to 2gether‘s OST sang by Bright Vachirawit. The one acting as Sarawat from the 2gether series. I am not sure what is the English title for this song, but it is titled ตกลงฉันคิดไปเองใช่ไหม. You can listen to it on Spotify.

To be honest I was so proud of this drama. My friends and I agreed that actors portraying such roles are both brave and really great actors for it is not that easy to do.

In the eyes of the people who are not yet open for such characters, they might be hated for it. But for people like me, they deserve a standing ovation. I guess it was one of the reason why I love Looney from Prison Playbook; Kang Tae Wan from Sweet Munchies; Joo Won Suk from Love With Flaws; And of course, Tine and Sarawat from 2gether.

The title Where Your Eyes Linger really fits the story. I am a firm believer of the saying “our eyes tell stories our mouth never could“, we can hide it all we want but our eyes never lie. It’s the window to our soul.

Moreover, the actors really did a great job. You can see in their eyes the love that both of them denies. The chemistry they have will make your heart both happy and sad.

What they went through is part of the reality that we are living now, because it’s true that not everyone can accept them, however there are also some people who do. It is what makes their love amazing, on how they face the world with a brave face as they held onto one another. The two of them against the world.

If I have something bad to say about the drama is that it’s so short!! It seems like everything went by so fast and I want more. You can actually finish watching the drama in less than two hours.

If you love K-Dramas and BL stories like me, you should give this a try. Waiting for more stories like this.
