1. Film | Blind (2011)
This is Park Bo Gum’s debut project. He played as a supporting role together with Kim Haneul and Yoo Seungho as the leads. Despite the short screen time, Bo Gum’s character as Kim Haneul’s brother served as a vital role in the film’s plot. His scenes here also gave us a glimpse of how great an actor Park Bo Gum will be in the future.
2. Drama | Wonderful Mama (2013)
Up until now, Park Bo Gum’s character in this family drama remains one of a kind. He played as Bae Jong Ok’s problematic youngest child. One will be surprised to see Bo Gum as a playboy and spoiled rich kid who parties every night. Trust me, all 48 episodes of this drama is definitely worth watching.
Fun Fact: The drama was actually filmed in Cebu, Philippines for a few episodes.
3. Film | The Admiral: Roaring Currents (2014)
This historical war film currently holds South Korea’s record for the Top Highest-Grossing Film to date.
Bo Gum was praised and recognized by many professional critics as well as co-actors for his outstanding acting talent on this film.
4. Drama | Wonderful Days (2014)
Playing as the teenage version Lee Seo Jin’s character in this melodrama, he was able to portray a very young and romantic Bo Gum. But the best thing about this drama is that we get to see him act in satoori!
5. Drama | Naeil’s Cantabile (2014)
Park Bo Gum’s role as the handsome cellist prodigy in this drama adaptation of Japanese manga Nodame Cantabile was able to earn him his first Best New Actortitle from KBS Drama Awards and APAN Star Awards. Also, we get to see him as the scene-stealing second lead.
6. Drama | Hello Monster (2015)
If you haven’t watched this drama yet, you can pause reading this list and watch it first. Seriously, this series is a must – watch! Here, he played as the drama’s psychopathic lawyer (I must stop explaining the plot as I might spoil you and we don’t want that right?).
Together with other casts; Seo In guk, Jang Nara, Choi Won young and Do Kyung soo (Yes, as in EXO’s DO), Park Bo gum delivered a performance that gave him the “Best Supporting Actor Award” and “Popularity Award” at the 29th KBS Drama Awards.
7. Film | Coin Locker Girl (2015)
Also known for the title “Chinatown”, this critically acclaimed film that stars Kim hye soo, Kim Go eun, Uhm Tae goo, Go Kyung pyo and Park Bo gum was even selected to be screened in the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. It also received multiple awards and nominations. In fact, Bo gum gained his first nomination at the Baeksang Arts Awards (2015) for the “Best New Actor” category.
8. Drama | Reply 1988 (2015)
This is what many consider as the project that catapulted Bo gum to where he is now. We see him here as the Genius Baduk Player of the Ssamundong Friends. Bo gum’s image as Choi taek is something that will linger in your memory for a very long time.
9. Variety | Youth Over Flowers: Africa (2016)
Basically, here we see Park Bo gum, Ryu Jun yeol, Ahn Jae hyun and Go Kyung pyo being kidnapped in Thailand and thrown into an African mission trip by Na PD. The whole series of episodes is so candid and entertaining. We can also witness the strong friendship formed among them from their work in Reply 1988. If you want to see Bo gum in his clumsiest state as the group maknae, you better start searching for the 1st episode.
10. Drama|Love in the Moonlight (2016)
Now, this is the series that brought upon Bo gum’s mainstream popularity here in the Philippines. Playing as the charismatic Crown Prince together with “Sageuk Fairy” Kim Yoo jung, he was able to capture lots of hearts. The drama also stars other young talented actors; Chae Soo bin, Jinyoung, Kwak Dong yeon and Jung Hye sung.
11. Variety |Hyori’s Homestay Season 2 (2018)
He only appeared for a few episodes as a “part-time employee” while Lee Sang soon was away in Seoul for a few days. We were able to witness (again) his angelic personality while he helps the B&B guests, Lee Hyori and Yoona.
12. Drama | Encounter (2019)
Coming back from his almost 3 years of hiatus after finishing his bachelor’s degree, Bo gum recently returned to the small screen with none other than – Song Hye kyo. The series was so successful it became one of the highest-rated Korean drama in cable television history.
