The reunion we never knew we needed, IU and Byeon Woo Seok will reunite in the upcoming romance drama!
On December 2, it was revealed that IU and Byeon Woo Seok will star in the upcoming MBC romance series, Wife of a 21st Century Prince.
The drama depicts the romance between a chaebol heiress named Sung Hee Joo and a prince named Lee Ahn. It is set in the 21st-century constitutional monarchy of the Republic of Korea.
IU will portray the role of Sung Hee Joo, the beautiful and intelligent second daughter of a conglomerate family. Her commoner status which she thinks is nothing special, hinders her perfect life. She then becomes entangled with Prince Lee Ahn.
IU debuted as an actress in the hit 2011 series, Dream High. She is known for her impeccable acting skills and remarkable for her roles in the dramas, You Are the Best!, Bel Ami, The Producers, Moon Lovers, My Mister, and Hotel Del Luna. She will star in the upcoming Netflix series When Life Gives You Tangerines.
As a singer, IU recently concluded her 2024 HEREH World Tour. Earlier this year, she released her EP, The Winning.
Byeon Woo Seok will transform into a prince who doesn’t have anything despite being the son of the king. He is the second son of the king and hides his true identity. His life changes when he meets Sung Hee Joo.
Woo Seok showed his seamless acting in the series, Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency, Record of Youth, Moonshine, his widely acclaimed rom-com series, Lovely Runner, and in the films, 20th Century Girl, and Soulmate. He recently made a special appearance in No Gain No Love.
He recently concluded his 2024 “Summer Letter” Asia Tour.
This is Byeon Woo Seok and IU’s drama reunion after Woo Seok made a special appearance in Moon Lovers where he played the boyfriend of IU’s role in the series.
