AO EXCLUSIVE: Byeon Woo Seok is grateful for the warm welcome of PH Tong-Tongs, talks about his acting career and the success of “Lovely Runner”
Byeon Woo Seok finally meets his Filipino Tong-Tongs!
Byeon Woo Seok started his career as a model in 2010. He started his acting journey in 2016 when he made his appearance in the drama, Dear My Friends. In the same year, he also appeared in the hit series, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo and Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. Since then, he has never failed to impress everyone with his acting prowess through his various roles, he captured the hearts of many with his talent and charm, and his sweetest smile made our hearts flutter.
Ahead of Byeon Woo Seok’s first-ever sold-out fan meeting “Summer Letter” in Manila“, proudly presented by PULP Live World, an exclusive press conference was held on June 21 at Shangri-La, The Fort Manila where Woo Seok expressed his gratitude towards his PH Tong-Tongs for their warm welcome, shared thoughts about his acting career and what he feels about the success of his recent hit drama, Lovely Runner.
Before the press conference officially started, we were so surprised because Byeon Woo Seok showed up holding yellow roses and handed them personally to all media members at the event. He was smiling while giving it to everyone. It was his way of showing his appreciation for everyone who came to the event. Thanks to Sun Jae we had that Im Sol moment. Woo Seok is the sweetest! Kilig!
Byeon Woo Seok learns Filipino words
Woo Seok greeted everyone saying, “Kamusta, I’m Byeon Woo Seok thank you for coming here today and I’m very happy to be here doing the press conference with all of you. I hope we have a good time together.” He said, it was so nice to be here in the Philippines finally and when he arrived at the airport on June 20, many PH Tong-Tongs welcomed him. He was so thrilled and excited to see them. According to him, this is his first time in the Philippines so he’s very happy with everything he sees.
Kring Kim, the host of the event, asked Woo Seok if he had the chance to learn some Filipino words. He responded that he had had no chance to learn those and requested to teach him some words. He learned, “Salamat”, “Uwi ka na hindi na ako galit”, and “Padayon.” He’s so adorable speaking those words, especially the words “Uwi ka na hindi na ako galit” (Please go home, I am no longer angry).
Byeon Woo Seok’s acting career
Byeon Woo Seok showcased his versatility in acting in various roles he portrayed. When asked about what role he wants to do next he replied, “I don’t have any particular role or genre that I want to portray.” He said any kind of new project wherein when he read the script, his heart is already in that story plot just like Lovely Runner that captivated him when he first read the script of it.
He also expressed how grateful he is for loving him as Sun Jae in his recent hit series, Lovely Runner. “As an actor, it’s one of my greatest achievements that everyone loves the roles I’m portraying. In the future, I would appreciate and love when you also fall in love with the new character that I’ll portray.”
On the other hand, about building a strong relationship with his co-actors and actresses, he said that he meets good people, and they approach him first. He doesn’t make a personal approach or does something just to be close to them but it’s coming from their hard work and love towards what they do. They share the same love and passion for their chosen craft.
Additionally, he also mentioned that if he’s not acting right now, he imagines himself as an entrepreneur or having a business such as a coffee shop. He revealed that he doesn’t drink coffee, but he likes to serve it.
His widely acclaimed series “Lovely Runner”
He made the hearts of many flutters in his widely acclaimed series, Lovely Runner as Ryu Sun Jae. Byeon Woo Seok shared three memorable scenes in the series: the first one is where Sun Jae first confessed to Im Sol that he likes her (Episode 3); the second is the heartfelt conversation between Sun Jae and his father while pouring a drink for him (Episode 3); and lastly, when Sun Jae said to Im Sol that if he ends up dying to save her he’ll be fine with that and that doesn’t matter (Episode 10).
Byeon Woo Seok as Ryu Sun Jae received so much love from the fans and he mentioned that he’s still not able to get along with the sudden popularity that he’s getting right now. He was amazed when he saw a huge crowd when he arrived at the airport. He also expressed that doing a press conference is a dream come true for him so, until now he’s still not used to this sudden attention and he’s very happy that Lovely Runner is not only popular in Korea but in different countries as well.
He also mentioned that he didn’t expect this grand success but while filming, as much as he enjoyed the shoot every day, he was hoping that many viewers would love it as well and that all the actors and staff have the same thoughts, “And now, I’m very grateful that it’s happening,” he added.
Byeon Woo Seok’s heartfelt message
The press conference wrapped up with Byeon Woo Seok’s heartfelt message. He expressed his gratitude towards his fans for their overwhelming love for him and Sun Jae of Lovely Runner and for also appreciating their projects. He also thanked us for being with him on that day. “Thank you so much for your great support and love that I never imagined happening and also please watch out for my next project that’s going to be released in a few months,” he revealed! Yes! We are excited and we are looking forward to that, oppa!
Through the press conference, we felt his genuine love for his fans as he shared that he prepared his thoughts and his heart for his fan meeting hoping that all his fans would go home with good memories and have a good time with him. He’s so precious and he really deserves all the love in this world!
