Experience the highs and lows of youth with “All That We Loved”

High school is a memorable time for everyone. It is a time of self-discovery, branching out, and managing expectations. These are things that, just like you and I, Yoo and Junhee experienced.

“All That We Loved” follows the story of best friends, Yoo and Junhee, as they navigate through high school. They have been friends ever since childhood, and practically attached to the hip. However, they soon both realize that they are not yet done growing, whether it is together or apart.

If you still need some convincing to watch it, here are four (slightly spoiler-free) reasons why you should give it a chance!

Wonderful cast and characters

Jeon Yeongin’s (An Soontak) performance was always on point! I always find myself paying attention to him whenever he is on screen.

For my fellow EXO-Ls, if you ever feel like you are missing our dear Sehun (Go Yoo), he is very good in this drama! I find myself smiling or laughing in his comedic routines, and crying at his more emotional ones.

Jo Joonyoung (Go Junhee) and Jang Yeobin (Han Soyeon) also did a great job with their characters!

The best of friends and their silly shenanigans

The bros–Yoo, Junhee, and Soontak– are the best of friends. They have a lot of cute and funny moments together, and will surely keep you smiling at their antics!

Love in all of its forms

This show portrays the different kinds of love: platonic, familial, and romantic. As someone who is very close with family and has longtime friends, I really love watching media portraying such relationships. I especially loved Yoo and Junhee’s friendship, and it made me think: “If I were in Yoo’s position, I would gladly do the same for my best friend.”

It also shows love, not only in happiness, but also in misunderstandings and fighting—how it is a part of every relationship, and how you may need to grow apart to understand each other.

Interesting storytelling

The series has a storytelling that starts with the ‘past’ and from time to time returns to the ‘present’. Once you start the series, it makes you wonder whose story we are actually watching.

“All That We Loved” surprised me in more ways than one. Sehun’s acting has improved a lot, and his silly antics along with his friends were really fun. The romance aspect could be improved upon, as I did not feel the ‘spark’ between love interests.
