2. Byeon Woo Seok and IU’s Drama Reunion
It took 10 years for Byeon Woo Seok and IU to reunite in a drama. Following their short encounter in the series Moon Lovers in 2016, the duo graces the screen once more in a new drama. Their portrayal of the royal couple, Sung Hee Joo and Lee Ahn, has captivated audiences, setting hearts aflutter with their undeniable chemistry.
During their press conference for Perfect Crown, IU shared, “After 10 years, we get to work as main characters again. Honestly, over the past decade, it’s not like we have been in touch since sharing the screen in ‘Moon Lovers,’ but it almost felt like we have been friends all along that time, that what makes me feel like I wanted to do another project with him after another 10 years from now.”

3. Byeon Woo Seok and Gong Seung Yeon are Long-time Friends in Real Life
Byeon Woo Seok and Gong Seung Yeon have been friends for a long time in real life. Their enduring connection blossoms from their shared journey as industry colleagues and former agency mates. They starred in Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency together in 2019. They were also once both under BH Entertainment, before both found their home at Varo Entertainment. They also both appeared in Song Request MV by Lee Sora (ft. Suga of BTS). What a friendship goal from Woo Seok and Seung Yeon.
4. King Hui Jong and Queen Ui Hyeon are a Married Couple in Real Life
Son Jun Ho and Kim So Hyun, who played the roles of King Hui Jong and Queen Ui Hyeon, respectively, in this series, are a real-life married couple. Just like having sons in the drama, they are also parents to a son in real life. The couple is active in theater acting.
5. “Perfect Crown” has a web novel
Perfect Crown has a web novel which was launched on May 16 on Kakao Page entitled, Perfect Crown in Royal Academy of Korea. It revolves around the untold stories from the characters’ youth at the royal academy and has 30 chapters.
6. IU, Yu Subin, and Lee Yeon became close because of this series
Because of Perfect Crown, IU, Yu Subin, and Lee Yeon became close. Their camaraderie shone brightly on Episode 644 of the popular Korean variety show I Live Alone, which aired on April 24. He spent quality time with IU and Lee Yeon, strolled along the Han River, and visited his favorite Chinese restaurant. In that episode, Subin also shared that they went to Jeju Island for 2 Days and 1 Night for a vacation.
Moreover, IU revealed that Yeon and Subin were the only friends who came to her grandfather’s funeral. We are so glad to know that this series has become the way to build a genuine friendship.
7. Yu Subin and Lee Yeon both appeared in the First Season of “Weak Hero”
This is not the first time Yu Subin and Lee Yeon have worked together in a series. They previously appeared in Weak Hero Class 1, and both showcase their amazing acting prowess in the series.
