ICYMI: Seo Young-eun Concludes 4-Year Journey with Kep1er
WAKEONE and Klap Entertainment have confirmed a new chapter for Kep1er as the group officially transitions to a six-member lineup, marking an emotional moment for fans around the world.
On March 6, the agencies announced that Kep1er will continue activities with Choi Yu-jin, XIAOTING, Kim Chae-hyun, Kim Da-yeon, HIKARU, and Huening Bahiyyih. At the same time, they confirmed that Seo Young-eun, who has been with the group since their debut, has concluded her activities with the team.
Young-eun had previously paused her promotions in July of last year due to health concerns. According to the agency at the time, the decision was made based on medical advice that she needed sufficient rest and a stable recovery period. Since then, fans have continued to send messages of support and hope for her well-being.
In their latest statement, WAKEONE and Klap Entertainment shared that they had held long and in-depth discussions with Seo Young-eun regarding her future. After careful consideration, both sides ultimately reached the decision for her to step away from the group. The agencies also emphasized that the remaining members respect Young-eun’s wishes and are wholeheartedly supporting her next steps.
While the news brings a sense of bittersweet change, it also signals the beginning of a new era for Kep1er. The agencies expressed confidence in the group’s future, stating that Kep1er will open a new chapter as a six-member team, promising to repay fans’ continued love with even stronger music and performances.
Originally debuting with nine members, the group experienced its first major lineup change in 2024 when Mashiro and Kang Yeseo departed the team. Following their exit, Kep1er continued promotions as seven members until this latest update regarding Young-eun.
As the group moves forward as six, Kep1ian continue to cheer for both Kep1er’s next chapter and Young-eun’s future path, hoping to see each of them shine in their own ways.
