The Korean Film Festival: Scenes on Screen is happening this year, presented by the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines (KCC)! Offering a multi-layered celebration of Korean cinema, the festival will take place through screenings, exhibits, talks, and competitions.

Promising to bridge cultures, spark imaginations, and spotlight the creative forces behind Korea’s cinematic masterpieces, KCC unveils this year’s festival as their most extravagant edition yet.
If you’re a casual viewer, aspiring filmmaker, or full-fledged cinephile, then this exciting line-up of free and open-to-the-public events has something in store for you!
Production Design: Scene Architects Build On-Screen Worlds
Exhibit runs from August 27 to November 21 at KCC | Free Admission
This special exhibit, co-hosted by the Korean Film Archive and the KCC, explores the fascinating world of production design, shedding light on the visual architects who brought life to some of Korea’s most iconic films.
With this, you can get a close look at the creative processes and enticing visual concepts by leading production designers like Ryu Seong-hee (Decision to Leave, The Handmaiden), Cho Hwa-sung (Hansan: Rising Dragon), and Han Ah-rum (Kill Boksoon, Kingmaker).
In this immersive exhibit, you will witness how words on a page can turn into living, breathing cinematic worlds through design, construction, and storytelling.

Talkback Session: Conversations Between Philippine and Korean Film Experts
August 27 at Cine Adarna, UPFI Film Center, University of the Philippines Diliman
This cross-cultural dialogue delves into the creative process behind film production design, storytelling, and the growing film industries of Korea and the Philippines.
This discussion will be joined by acclaimed production designer Han Ah-rum with producer RuBi (team manager of ‘ARTCOMPANY HAN’), along with Park Hee-seong, senior researcher from the Korean Film Council (KOFIC). Representatives from the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and Filipino film makers will also engage with them (full panel details to be announced soon!).
In this event, the screening and awarding of the winning entries from the “Reel Connections: Student Short Film Competition” will also be featured. The rising talents behind “Seoul Sight” will be introduced as they prepare for their upcoming trip to the 2025 Busan International Film Festival.
