Seo In Guk is the Philippines’ Celebrity Tourism Ambassador for South Korea
On February 21st, the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) officially appointed singer-actor Seo In Guk as the Philippines’ Celebrity Tourism Ambassador for Korea.
He is known for his successful career in music and acting and built a strong bond with his Filipino fanbase, especially after his memorable fan meeting in Manila.
DOT Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco formally welcomed Seo In Guk and emphasized that Seo In Guk’s designation would deepen the bond between Filipinos and Koreans, allowing more South Koreans to discover iconic destinations in the country.
“Mr. Seo In Guk’s artistry has cultivated a deep connection with Filipino fans and other nationalities all over the world, making him an ideal representative to share the wonders of the Philippines to the world. As our Philippine Tourism Ambassador, Mr. Seo In Guk will be instrumental in promoting the Philippines as a must-visit destination for Koreans,” she added.
“Thank you, and it feels very nice, and it’s an honor for me to be on this stage. I really feel a big responsibility as a representative of and as a promoter for one country. I really really want to thank everyone for making this happen for me and I really want to say that I will give back all the love that you gave to me and I will be someone to promote the Philippines to others in the future. Thank you very much. Mahal ko kayo,” Seo In Guk said, expressing his excitement and gratitude.
As part of this collaboration, Seo In Guk will engage in various promotional activities in both countries, showcasing iconic destinations like Boracay, Cebu, and Manila. His role will focus on highlighting the Philippines’ breathtaking natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and renowned hospitality through diverse media channels and official tourism campaigns.
Seo In Guk’s passion for travel and his genuine connection with his Filipino fans are expected to play a significant role in promoting the Philippines.
