Jeon So Min is known for being a versatile actress and a charming entertainer, but did you know that she’s also an artist who is very interested and talented in music?

In fact, she revealed in some TV shows in the past that she prepared to be a singer when she was in high school. The producer told her to debut as a faceless singer and continue her career later on as an actress. Unfortunately, the said producer left the country and ran away to Japan.

Aside from occasionally sharing her favorite songs with her fans, she has participated in some artists’ music for many years now. Her works, mostly as a lyricist, are also credited by KOMCA (Korea Music Copyright Association) as her compositions.

Jeon So Min joined Kim Dong Wan of Shinhwa for this digital single that was released in 2014. It is a sorrowful ballad and has been completed as a calm emotional song that suits the winter.

Confession of Your Love by Yoo Jae Suk, Jeon So Min, and SORAN (Lyrics by Jeon So Min and Go Young Bae of SORAN)

‘Confession of Your Love’ is a song collaboration for the 9th-anniversary fan meeting of ‘Running Man‘ in Seoul, Korea. Through various missions on the TV show, the group with Jeon So Min, Yoo Jae Suk, and indie rock band SORAN was created.

So Min worked with Go Young Bae (SORAN’s vocalist) in writing the lyrics and even said that the actress is a genius in lyric writing. The song is about So Min’s true love story.

Reasons For Not Cutting Long Hair by Jeon So Min (Lyrics by Jeon So Min)

In 2021, it was announced that Jeon So Min collaborated with musician Choi Botton and recorded some narrations and the song ‘Reasons For Not Cutting Long Hair’ which she also wrote the lyrics for.

Choi Botton told the story of contacting So Min by sending an e-mail to the publisher of her book ‘You Can Call Me After A Drink’. He had nothing but praises for the actress after working with her for 4 months, saying she’s humble, bright, attentive, and considerate of others.

It is a painful song that reflects So Min’s writing about the emotions of love that are dyed black and was buried in a cold calmness.

One Room by Lee Ki Chan (Lyrics by Jeon So Min)

The song ‘One Room’ is Lee Ki Chan’s comeback song in 2021. It tells the story of a breakup based on a phone call from the man’s perspective. He revealed that he was surprised when he read the lyrics and praised So Min for being good at writing.

“I know I don’t deserve to say this but I hope you’re happy. Now it seems like this is really the end of us. I’ll hang up now. I won’t call you anymore. We’ve suffered enough.” (translated lyrics)

MAYO by Jeon So Min featuring Shim of SRG (Lyrics by Jeon So Min, Shim and Yangs of SRG)

SULREGGAE or SRG, is a duo from Quan Entertainment. The song was made through a project headed by Haha of Running Man where the creation process was filmed and posted on SRG’s YouTube channel.

In the video, So Min was shown participating in writing the lyrics and presenting her ideas for the theme of the song. In the end, they chose the theme of a heart-fluttering push-and-pull love story.

Witness by Jung In (Lyrics by Jeon So Min)

Released in April 2024, ‘Witness’ is a ballad that tells the story of a couple that spends meaningful time together and being each other’s witnesses who remembers their memories together. It expresses the hope that even if the couple breaks up and never sees each other again, there’s proof that what they had was real.

So Min wrote the heartbreaking lyrics with full details like a movie scene.

권태 by Choi Botton (Lyrics by Jeon So Min)

권태, translated as gwon-tae or boredom, this song depicts the feeling of losing and saying goodbye to the things that you love and having the courage to take a step into a new world.

This song is another collaboration between Jeon So Min and Choi Botton released in May 2024.

You can also listen to her other collaborations with musician Choi Botton “Let’s Be Together Forever” and her relaxing voice through her narrations “I Love You” and “Blue & Blue“.

In her 20th year in the industry, Jeon So Min has shown many sides of her proving to be a true all-rounder.
