AO EXCLUSIVE: Kim Ji Won shares what she feels about her first-ever fan meeting, talks about her acting career and “Queen of Tears”
PH Dong Dengs finally meets their precious Queen, Kim Ji Won!
Known for being one of the multitalented artists in Korea, Kim Ji Won stole the hearts of many not only with her charm but also her exceptional talents. She started her career by appearing in commercials, trained to become an idol but decided to take her journey in acting and officially debuted in the 2011 film, Romantic Heaven. She is known for her impeccable acting skills and remarkable for her roles in the dramas, The Heirs, Descendants of the Sun, Fight for My Way, Arthdal Chronicles, My Liberation Notes, and her recent hit series, Queen of Tears.
Ahead of Kim Ji Won’s first-ever sold-out fan meeting “Be My One“ in Manila, proudly presented by PULP Live World, an exclusive press conference was held on August 3 at Novotel Manila, Araneta City where Ji Won shared what she feels about having her first-ever fan meeting across Asia, talked about his acting career and her recent hit drama, Queen of Tears. Her warm and sweet aura illuminated the whole room.
Her first-ever fan meeting “Be My One”
In the 14 years since her debut, Kim Ji Won is now finally having her first-ever “Be My One” Asia Tour fan meeting. She shared what she feels about doing it and meeting her fans across Asia. She describes it as a “pen pal” and said, “To be honest I’m very amused and surprised. It’s probably the fans’ first time seeing me but it’s also my first time to meet my fans. It’s as if like I’m meeting finally those who I was sending my pen pal letters to so it’s very surprising, I’m really thrilled and heart-touching.”
Kim Ji Won also shared what she wants to achieve in her first fan meeting and that her priority is to have good memories and have a fun time with her fans. When asked about her memorable moments with her fans in her fan meeting, she said that she feels happy whenever her fans wave their banners, welcoming her, and exclaiming the roles she portrayed in her dramas. “It was very heart-touching,” she expressed.
Kim Ji Won’s Acting Career
Kim Ji Won has been an established and successful actress for more than a decade and when asked about her biggest achievement in her acting career so far she answered, “It’s very fulfilling that a lot of my fans remember the characters that I have been playing on my previous dramas.” According to her, it’s very fulfilling that the fans appreciate her various roles.
According to her, her role as Rachel Yoo in The Heirs left the biggest mark on her right now as Kim Ji Won because it was her first time portraying a role with a strong character and people started to know her when she played that role.
In taking on new roles she said she still feels pressure but she keeps that as a very positive input because of that pressure, she tries hard to show the best of herself to everyone. she also mentioned that rom-com is one of her favorite genres but when she is given the chance to choose what genre to do next time, it would be a thriller genre.
When discussing her top-notch chemistry with her co-actors, she said she studies her script very well. She does a lot of communication with them and with directors to achieve their goals for their drama, “I’m very blessed and lucky to have good staff, good production team, and also good partner actors and actresses,” she added.
In addition, Kim Ji Won said if she is not an actress right now she probably be an emoticon creator.
The hit rom-com series “Queen of Tears”
Kim Ji Won is popular for playing the role of Hong Hae In in one of the most acclaimed rom-com series Queen of Tears. She shared that playing Hong Hae In was one of the most challenging roles for her when she got the script around 3 months before the filming of the drama. She studied it very well. “When we were doing a script reading with my co-actors and actresses, I felt a lot easier to understand, relate, and portray my character very well. That’s what I do I study my script.”
About the fashion style of Hong Hae In, she said her favorite outfit she wore in the drama was the outfit she wore during the shooting scene (last part of Episode 2) where Baek Hyun Woo saved her from the attacking boar.

The Q&A session wrapped up with Kim Ji Won’s heartfelt message expressing that she’s very thrilled and excited to finally meet her PH Dong Dengs hoping that they could all create good memories together and wishes that the fans stay healthy always. She’s the sweetest! ♡
