Running Man RUN 2 U in Manila: A night filled with laughter with Filipino fans!
One year later, after A Decade of Laughter in Manila, Running Man brings RUN 2 U to Manila to reunite with their Filipino fans.
A Saturday night was memorable as Filipino Runners (fandom name) got to meet the cast of Running Man once again. The news of SBS’ longest variety show returning to Manila surprised everyone, but they still did not waste any opportunity to meet the members again.
Composed of Ji Suk-jin, Yu Jae-suk, Kim Jong-kook, HaHa, Song Ji-hyo, and Yang Se-chan, the night is an experience where lots of laughter and beautiful memories are made.
Opening Stage from Running Man Philippines
To kick off the event, Running Man Philippines cast members held a special performance to hype the crowd!
Buboy Villar serenaded the audience with Lola Amour’s Raining in Manila. Miguel Tanfelix and Kokoy delos Santos danced to SB19’s Gento. Angel Guardian and Lexi Gonzales performed BINI’s Pantropiko and Mahiwagang Salamin. Glaize de Castro sang and danced to Sarah Geronimo’s Tala.
Capping off their opening stage, the group, along with Mikael Diaz, performed their program’s main theme song.
Running Man Philippines’ members got the opportunity to meet the “OG” Running Man as well!
Meeting Running Man members is a ‘Spring Day.
Every wait was worth it as the cast of Running Man Korea graced the stage with BTS’ Spring Day. They even greet the audience with Tagalog phrases: “Magandang Gabi po!” “Salamat po!” and “Mahal Kita!” which were answered by screams from the fans present.
It may have been more than a year since their last visit, but Yu Jae-seok shared that he is very grateful for the warm love they received from the fans. Even Ji Suk-jin, who was nervous because of preparations, shared how they prepared every day to meet fans’ expectations throughout the night.
Song Ji-hyo even taught the audience a Korean phrase, “폼 미쳤다,“ which means “It was crazily awesome.” As the night deepened, the members assured everyone present that a lot of performances were prepared to entertain and make the night enjoyable for everyone.
Funny Games and Lucky Fans
The fan meeting held segments where members played games similar to their episodes. One of the segments was All About K-Pop, wherein members needed to guess the correct K-Pop songs. It was funny to witness how members could get frustrated guessing the songs and ask for help from the audience!
In one of the questions, Yu Jae-seok humorously got a point by stealing an answer from HaHa and Ji Suk-jin!
Following the games, some lucky fans were challenged to cosplay the funniest costume of their favorite member, allowing them to interact with the members directly on stage. They even got a group photo opportunity and played some games with the members!
The main winner, who cosplayed Yu Jae-seok, won a solo photo opportunity with the members who were wearing costumes as well! Quite a core memory for that fan!
Energizing and well-prepared performances from solo to unit stages!
The most anticipated parts of the night were, of course, the performances of the members. It just proves how talented they were at making everyone laugh!
Song Ji-hyo started the solo stage with a performance of Bam Yang Gang by BIBI. Ji Seok-jin followed with a cover of John Legend’s All of Me.
Yang Se-chan transforms into Saebsaeb Mercury as he powerfully covers Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. HaHa put on an energetic performance with his special guests, SRG with Ice Bottle, to which the audiences were hyped up!
Kim Jong-kook turned into a romantic soloist with his hit One Man and recently released song, Spring Has Come. Lastly, Yu Jae-seok brings back Yoo San-seul as he performs Redevelopment of Love.
For collaboration stages, SRG, a group produced by HaHa, performed Baby Be Mind. Followed by Yang Se-chan and Haha’s powerful collaboration stage.
Our SpartAce hearts were in full swing as well when Kim Jong-kook and Song Ji-hyo gave us butterflies in their performance!
A highlight of the night was when Song Ji-hyo collaborated with Yang Se-chan with HaHa and Yu Jae-seok wearing costumes!
“Thank you for your support.”
As a prelude to their 14th anniversary celebration, the Filipino fans prepared a special cake for the members. They even took a group photo with everyone present. As the night drew to a close, the members expressed their sincerest thanks to everyone.
As per Kim Jong-kook, they will do their very best to repay all the love and support they received. Yu Ja-seok even commended the event’s hosts, Kring Kim and Ryan Bang, for the incredible assistance they’ve given. Jae-seok thanked the audience for the support they’ve received and for always running with them.
They ended their performance with their theme song, I Like It. To everyone’s surprise, they even performed a new song based on episode 705 from 600 Shot’s team! We will wait for the official release!
As the members walked to the extended stage, some lucky fans got the opportunity to take selfies and have some of their merchandise signed by the members! Making us all exclaim sana all!
Right after they officially bid farewell, the members promised that they would be back in Manila. We should prepare in advance once again! Who knows? They might return sooner than we imagine!
To conclude, Running Man RUN 2 U in Manila is a night to remember. It was a fun night where you could hear happy cheers and waves of laughter from audiences with whom you share the same support and love for members of Running Man.
