INFINITE‘s Nam Woohyun held his first solo concert after coming back from the military titled ‘Nam Woohyun Ontact Concert [Arbor Day ON]’ on the 2nd and 3rd of October.

As it’s been less than a week since his concert and we already missed him, let’s get to know more about the main vocalist of INFINITE.
Aquarius Baby
Nam Woohyun was born on February 8, 1991, in Seoul, South Korea. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Applied Music from Dong-ah Institute of Media and Arts.
Soccer Enthusiast
Initially, he wanted to be a soccer player when he was little, however, he was unable to pursue this desire.

When he was in high school, he fulfilled his dream of becoming a singer and auditioned at Woollim Entertainment as well as two other agencies, one of which being YG Entertainment.
Woohyun is presently a striker for FC Men, a South Korean celebrity football club. He was hired to FC Men in early 2015 after previously playing for FC One. On May 17, 2015, he made his FC Men debut in a charity friendly against Jeju United FC.
Pre-debut and Modeling Career
Before joining the group, Woohyun worked as a model for a shopping mall with Beast’s Junhyung and T-ara’s Jiyeon. He also performed Lee Hyori’s ‘U Go Girl’ at the 6th Hello Star Contest.
In 2007, he took the major role in KooPD’s music video for Guigamalo, which was one of his first television appearances. Later that year, he sang Lee Seunggi’s ‘Words That Are Hard to Say’ on Mnet’s Girl Punch.
Debut in INFINITE
With their ‘EP First Invasion’, INFINITE made their debut in 2010. Over the Top, their first full-length album was released in July 2011. Before their debut, INFINITE contributed vocals to the chorus of Epik High’s supporting song at the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Musical Debut
His musical theatre career began in 2012 with a supporting part in the musical Gwanghwamun Sonata. The part of Jiyong, the female lead’s son, was shared by Woohyun and INFINITE’s leader Kim Sungkyu.
He also appeared in the musical ‘I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change’ in Osaka, Japan in 2018. From August through October 28, 2018, Woohyun performed in the musical ‘Barnum: The Greatest Showman’, which was staged in Seoul, South Korea.
Acting Debut
In August 2012, Woohyun made his acting debut in the drama The Thousandth Man, playing a minor role.

Woohyun was cast in the lead role of Shin Woohyun in the KBS drama ‘Hi! School: Love On’ in April 2014, along with Kim Saeron and INFINITE’s Lee Sungyeol.
Toheart’s Debut
SM Entertainment announced the establishment of Toheart, a special unit comprising of Woohyun and Shinee’s Key, on February 20, 2014.

On March 10, Toheart released their first mini-album, ‘Delicious’, and made their live debut at a MelOn Premiere Showcase on March 12.
Solo Debut
Woohyun released his first EP ‘Write’ as a solo artist last May 9, 2016. His second EP ‘Second Write’, was released on September 3, 2018, with the title of the first single ‘If Only You Are Fine’.

From November 2 to 4, Nam presented his debut solo performance Arbor Day in the Hannam-dong Blue Square, which sold out in under two minutes.
He also released a solo digital single, “A Song for You,” on December 13, 2018, which he played in his solo concert before enlisting.
Military Enlistment
Woohyun enrolled for his mandatory military service on October 24, serving as a public service worker because his shoulder injury from 2014 prevented him from enlisting as an active-duty soldier.
On November 3, he released his second digital single as a gift to fans while serving in the military.
He was discharged from the military on August 5, 2021.
Finger Heart Mania
Fun Fact: Did you know that finger heart was popularized by Woohyun, Bigbang’s G-Dragon, and actress Kim Hyesoo?
During the interview, on June 2016 broadcast of KBS2’s ‘Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook’, MC Yoo Heeyeol asks Woohyun, “I heard that you’re the creator of the finger heart; is that true?”
Which was Woohyun respond “I’m not quite the creator. It already existed, but I popularized it when I used it in around 2011 or 2012. I’m sure someone used it before then.”

On the last day of his concert, he surprise his fans by releasing the comeback trailer of his coming 4th Mini Album ‘With’.
