Golden Child’s Hong Joochan successfully concludes his performance in the musical “Paganini”
Golden Child’s Hong Joochan has successfully wrapped up his performance in the musical “Paganini,” which ran for about two months. The final performance was held at the National Museum of Korea’s Theater Yong on the 2nd.
“Paganini” tells the story of the famous violin player Niccolò Paganini, who died in 1840. After he died, he was not allowed to be buried in a church grave because people said he had made a deal with the devil. His son Achille fought hard in court for a long time to let his dad rest in peace. The show shares how Paganini, known as the “Devil’s Violinist,” won over the world with his violin and looks into the lives of those around him. It showcases Paganini’s music and also shares a lesson through the stories of people close to him.
Like Paganini, Hong Joochan showed a man full of spirit and a master of the violin. His acting caught the odd ways of a man who lived only for music and the strong pride of an artist who kept his head high to the end.
Hong Joochan’s take on Paganini’s pain in his last moments, shouting “All I have left is music,” touched hearts deeply. His scene alone in the dark, under just one light, showing a deep wish to keep living, struck a chord with the viewers, making a deep mark.
After the final curtain, Hong Joochan, amidst enthusiastic applause, shared his thoughts through his agency, Woollim Entertainment: “Completing ‘Paganini’ was a significant challenge for me, filled with trials and adversity. Giving up during difficult times meant losing to myself, so I worked tirelessly to create my own Paganini.”
He continued, “The audience’s response felt like a reward for all the effort I had put in. I am sincerely grateful to everyone who came to see and love Paganini. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
