All members have hearing impairments and their hearing levels are different.

Before entering the K-Pop industry, each of the members experienced having full-time jobs. Chan-yeon worked as an audiologist at Korea University Anam Hospital, Ji-seok was a skier at the Korea Para Ski Association, and Hyun-jin was a YouTuber who documented his daily life with disabilities.

Before debuting, they faced obstacles such as criticism and stereotypes about their hearing impairments. However, these boys did not let these stop them from chasing their dreams.

How does Big O!cean practice for their performance?

The members mostly relied on technology and used other parts of their bodies like when Hyun-jin relied on his abdominal muscles to measure pitch and memorize notes. To practice their vocalization and dance skills, they use AI technology (for voice correction) and smartwatches (for choreography) that vibrate to the beat and flash lights every eight beats. A large screen is also displayed in front of the members while practicing which shows a visual metronome to keep the members in sync with the music. Additionally, Big O!cean practiced at local music festivals to manage noisy environments and watch music broadcasts to memorize camera positions and stage layouts.
