A memorable night at GOT7 Youngjae’s “INSIDE OUT” Manila concert!

Memorable and heartwarming — these two words would be best to describe how GOT7 Youngjae’s “Inside Out” concert last February 24, 2024, felt to every Ahgases. It’s definitely a night that will forever be remembered. 

This event marked his 3rd visit to the Philippines as a solo artist. The first was in July 2022, during his first-ever mini-concert and fansign event in Manila. The Second was in September of the same year for Kpop Masterz 2 together with iKON and Ateez. 

Going back to his recently concluded concert, here are some of the event highlights. 

Captivating performances

The concert started with him singing and dancing to Vibin’ and Sugar which made everyone very ecstatic. It was followed by a very enthusiastic Youngjae who greeted the PH crowds with, “Mabuhay! Ako po si Youngjae.” After his talks, he then proceeded to sing Deal and Dreaming Again. Throughout his concert, he kept on saying sorry that his throat was not in its best condition. However, fans reassured him that he doesn’t need to worry ‘cause he’s still doing a very good job.

One of the concert highlights was when Youngjae surprised his PH fans with his powerful cover of Bruno Mars’ popular song When I Was Your Man. He mentioned that it was the first song that introduced him to the singer and he also knew that he has a special place in Filipinos’ hearts. Due to his throat condition, he promised that he would upload the song cover on his YouTube channel. 

He performed over 20 songs which include Tasty, Do It, Thinking of You, Focus, Lonely, Problem, Moonlight, Snooze, Crema, and Roses.

Despite feeling a bit unwell, he still managed to sing very well and slay every performance. 

Successful fan projects

Aside from the successful concert, it was also a win for the fans as Youngjae really appreciate everything that was prepared for him. Fan projects were spearheaded by Ahgasisters, together with Team Bambam Space, GOT7 Cebu-PH, and Choi Youngjae Philippines. 

First was the unique hand banner that should have been a surprise, but he saw it and posted it on his X account hours before the concert.

It has a football concept inspired by his recent album. What Youngjae really loved about it was it incorporated the face of his lovely daughter (dog), Coco. In one of his talks, he said that it was very well made. He can’t help but cry because he misses his dog so much. 

Another one was the surprise video that touched him so much. He also noticed the “PH 💚 CYJ” sign that was raised after the surprise event. He even asked the photographer to retake the group photo and made sure that the sign would be seen on the picture.

Fanbases also prepared gifts, food, and the “Tindahan ni Youngjae” which was posted on his Instagram story. An Ahgase area was also set up for the fans who will give out freebies. 

Kudos to Ahgasisters and every Ahgase who participated in the fan projects! 

Nostalgic encore

Aside from performing his solo songs, Youngjae also had a GOT7 medley during the encore that includes Hard Carry, Lullaby, Nanana, Breath, and Girls Girls Girls. He also went down and toured the whole venue to meet Ahgases closer. Fans were very excited but they were all very respectful to not mob him. Feelings were all over the place as everyone cheered, screamed, and got so emotional at the same time. 

Good job, Youngjae and Ahgases! 

It’s no doubt that Youngjae is really an excellent performer but seeing his passion and dedication for his craft is even more admirable. His throat may not be in its best condition but it was not a hindrance to give more than 100% on all of his performances. The love and appreciation he has for his fans is also on another level. Youngjae is indeed a sunshine personified.

Ahgases, on the other hand, deserve a pat on their back. Apart from the overflowing love for their idol, the fandom showed again another act of solidarity to help others see Youngjae.
