2021 KBS drama special ‘Hee Soo’ wins at Ramsgate Festival in the UK

On June 25th, it was announced that the KBS drama special ‘Hee Soo/ My Daughter’ released in 2021 won the Best Feature Narrative award at the 2023 Ramsgate International Film & TV Festival held in Ramsgate, England.

It is the only Asian film to win from the full selection of 11 features and 53 shorts from 11 countries.

Ramsgate International Film & TV Festival is the largest video festival in the southeast of England, aiming to introduce new works from around the world featuring innovative stories and new technologies.

The drama also won the Best Picture award at the 2021 Korea UHD Award in the drama category.

Korea UHD Award 2021 is an award ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Science, ICT, and Future Planning and supervised by the Korea Radio Promotion Association.

It was also nominated at the 2022 APAN Star Awards for the best Short-form Drama award and bagged 3 nominations at the 2022 Seoul International Drama Awards (International Category) for Best Program, Best Director (Director Choi Sangyeol), and Best Actress (Jeon So Min) for TV Movie.

In addition, the lead actors won their own Best Actress and Best Actor in a Special Drama awards at the 2021 KBS Drama Awards respectively.

Hee Soo‘ is a sci-fi horror one-act drama starring Jeon So Min and Park Sung Hoon. It is about a married couple who are living in grief after their daughter died in an accident and will restore her through a VR project.
