“Those who know the law well are more dangerous than those who know nothing.”– Han Joon Hwi, Law School (2021)
There are so many good ongoing K-dramas airing right now and as K-drama supporters, we watch K-dramas not only for entertainment purposes but also for educational purposes, that’s why we love watching K-dramas with medical and legal genres to learn something from them.
Without further ado, here are three highly recommended ongoing legal Korean dramas you should be watching right now:
1. Extraordinary Attorney Woo
A heartwarming series that depicts a story of a lawyer named Woo Young Woo with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who has an IQ of 164 and works at the Hanbada law firm.
Following her successful historical drama, The King’s Affection, Park Eun Bin once again proved that she is indeed a versatile actress by portraying the role of Woo Young Woo. I love this drama not only because it focuses on the law, but also focuses specifically on a person who has an autism spectrum.
This drama serves as an eye-opener on social prejudices toward the person who has disabilities like Young Woo and makes us realize that they can shine based on their talents and skills.
On the other hand, it also tells us that being different from others is not a bad thing, that every person is different and unique, and that’s what makes everybody special.
This legal drama is so great! It’s another masterpiece starring Park Eun Bin, Kang Tae Oh, and Kang Ki Young. The chemistry of all the characters is so great, especially the chemistry between Young Woo and Junho.
It airs every Wednesday and Thursday. Available for streaming on Netflix.
2. Doctor Lawyer
Dr. Lawyer is a touching medical-legal drama that talks about a genius doctor named Han Yi Han who became a malpractice lawyer after losing everything because of rigged surgery and a prosecutor in charge of medical crimes named Geum Seok Yeong who loses her brother and lover through that surgery.
Everything turned upside down when Yi Han was accused of killing Seok Yeong’s brother, Seokju due to malpractice when in fact, it was a successful heart transplant surgery.
Someone took Seokju’s heart while recovering. Who is it? Is it someone powerful? What will happen to Yi Han? Will he be able to get justice for Seokju’s death? Will Yihan and Seok Yeong get back together despite the tragic incident that happened to her brother?
It’s a comeback drama of So Ji Sub, and as expected, he really can pull off any role. He flawlessly plays the role of a Doctor and a lawyer at the same time.
Shin Sung Rok also nailed his acting skills here, If you already watched his drama, The Last Empress along with Jang Nara, His character here will remind you of his character in that drama.
Han Yi Han’s next step for revenge using his great abilities and skills of being a Doctor and a Lawyer is what we should all look forward to.
The drama airs every Friday and Saturday. Available for streaming on Disney Plus.
3. Why Her
Depicts a story of a woman named Oh Soo Jae, a lawyer at TK law firm and a law professor. She crosses her path again with a law student named Gong Chan who was once falsely accused of a crime and was imprisoned.
There are mystery cases that they are trying to solve which might be connected to other cases. What is the truth behind the murder of Chan’s step-sister and the truth behind the victims of sexual assault? Who are the culprits of these heinous crimes? Will we be able to see justice for the victims?
It’s Hwang In Yeop’s first lead role and we are so happy to see him in this kind of role. You should include this drama, on your must-watch list mga bes! and look forward to the overflowing chemistry of him with Seo Hyun Jin and the backstory of their first encounter together.
The drama airs every Friday and Saturday. Available for streaming on Viu.
So what are you waiting for? Binge watch it now, mga bes!
