AO EXCLUSIVE: Son Ye Jin made her mark through Smart Philippines!

In case you missed it, South Korean Actress, Son Ye Jin joins the ambassador list of Smart Communications!

We all know that Hyun Bin joined the Smart family two months ago, with his “Simple, Smart Ako.” campaign. The Smart executives already hinted us back then that they don’t want to make the Captain lonely; making the right choice to add Ye Jin to the team!

Luckily, Annyeong Oppa Team was once again invited for the Digital Presscon for the launch of her campaign! We were able to learn more about this partnership and took notes of what we should expect for this promo.

Son Ye Jin, the Smart Choice

Jane J. Basas, Smart’s SVP and Head of Consumer Wireless Business, stated that the upcoming Smart Signature Brand aims to cater and simplify the postpaid plan needs of their customers. With the goal to help their customers make their own marks, the brand introduced Crash Landing On You star, Son Ye Jin who made her mark to the Philippine television as the lovable Yoon Se Ri.

Add up by Basas, there is more to Son Ye Jin that meets the eye. Her simplicity and grace with her 20 years in the Korean entertainment industry eventually made Ye Jin left her mark as one of the best actress in her country.

Grateful of her Filipino fans

Son Ye Jin was asked on how she felt when she received the offer regarding the campaign. She expressed, “I am very happy. Actually, I wanted to visit the Philippines and shoot. The fans of the drama (CLOY) even sent me a lot of support messages through social media.” She added, “I am happy to work for a Philippine brand, and it’s even better because it’s a Smart advertisement.”

Due to her popularity in the country, the actress also expressed how she’s eager to meet her fans personally, and she’s very thankful that with Smart, she met her Filipino fans through this campaign. She repeatedly express how thankful and grateful she is with the love and support she received from the Philippines.

Working backstage

Just like Hyun Bin, Son Ye Jin’s commercial was taken in South Korea. Selected Smart executives flew back and forth between Manila and Seoul. Smart’s President and CEO and PLDT’s Chief Revenue Officer, Alfredo S. Panlilio, got a chance to have a Zoom virtual meeting with her and expressed how warm the actress is. He added, “She (Ye Jin) was very welcoming of all of us. As if she wasn’t shooting, and while in the middle of the shoot, she’s doing a lot of things…She’s dying to come to Manila and visit her fans here.”

Shooting can’t even stop Ye Jin to make her mark as one of the nicest actress the brand has ever worked with. In case you didn’t notice, Son Ye Jin took the challenge to speak the English spiels of the commercial. So yes bes, the voice you’ve been hearing is none other than Son Ye Jin herself!

BinJin in Manila

With the growing number of fans for Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin comes the birth of BinJin — their unofficial ship name. Since the two are the latest Smart ambassadors, fans are hoping for an advertisement seeing the two in one screen!

Questions such as having the two join forces for a TV Commercial and meeting their fans together in Manila surfaced and was answered by the Smart’s Head for Postpaid Marketing, Shing Dimagiba. He stated, “There are no immediate plans although, the idea is something we, ourselves would be excited to see.” Despite their jam-packed schedules, Dimagiba added, “We are definitely looking forward to their visit, once our situation improves.”

Ending the digital presscon, the Smart executives encourages everyone to make their own mark, and is grateful how the Filipinos are currently receiving their newest ambassadors with much love!
