Crunchyroll unveils release date of ‘Dragon Ball Super: Beerus’
The new anime series “Dragon Ball Super: Beerus” is set to be released on Crunchyroll starting October 11. The new series aims to enhance the Dragon Ball Super storyline and features updated and all-new animation and visuals.

“Dragon Ball Super: Beerus” is about the return of Beerus, the God of Destruction, and his fateful encounter with Goku.
The series will also present a new version of the cosmic battle that helped launch the Dragon Ball Super era.
“This enhanced edition introduces a large volume of newly added and redrawn cuts, as well as a reconstructed narrative,” according to an announcement on the Dragon Ball Super website.
“With cutting-edge visual expression, the series delivers even more immersive battle scenes and a more faithful representation of the original manga—bringing an enhanced edition to life like never before,” it added.
Synopsis
Several years after the fierce battle against Majin Buu, Earth finally regained a brief moment of peace. Meanwhile, Beerus, the God of Destruction, awakens from his long, deep sleep. Even Kai and Supreme Kai, who know Beerus’s power to destroy entire planets, watch his awakening with great fear. Beerus hears rumors of a Saiyan who defeated Frieza and suddenly appears before Goku.
Targeted by Beerus, the strongest being in the universe, Earth faces grave danger. An earth-shattering cosmic battle begins between the God of Destruction and Goku and his allies, a conflict that will shake the entire universe.
The series is drawn from Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama’s original story, character designs, and creative vision and produced by Toei Animation, the studio behind the Dragon Ball franchise.
The voice cast are Masako Nozawa as Son Goku and Kōichi Yamadera as Beerus.
The production members include Matsuto Seya for composition and direction arrangement, Tadayoshi Yamamuro as animation character design and general animation director, Eiichi Nishimura for editing, Yosuke Motoki as compositing director, and Norihito Sumitomo for music.
It will stream with subtitles and be available on Crunchyroll in the United States, Canada, Latin America including Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Southeast Asia, and Europe.
According to the website of Dragon Ball Super, “Dragon Ball Super: Beerus” is set to appear at New York Comic Con 2026, which will be held in New York from October 8 to 11.
Premiered in July 2015, Dragon Ball Super aired for 131 episodes until March 2018.
