Golden Child’s Choi Sungyun signs with Oak Company, prepares for solo album
Choi Sungyun has finally found his new agency!
On November 17, Oak Company welcomes Choi Sungyun from Golden Child as a new part of their family.
Through a statement, Oak Company said, “We have signed an exclusive contract with Choi Sungyun, who received much love as the main vocalist of Golden Child,” and added, “We will not spare our active support so that he can be more active in various fields as a solo artist and actor.”
After almost a year of being a free agent, Choi Sungyun expressed his excitement about being a part of Oak Company. He said, “I am so happy to start in a new environment. I will do my best to meet fans with new activities as soon as possible, so please look forward to it.”
Choi Sungyun is currently working on his new solo album with Oak Company and plans to meet his fans with a new album at the end of the year. He will also be working as an actor.
It was in 2024 when 8 out of 10 members of Golden Child left their former company, Woollim Entertainment, and have since been working on their solo careers in various fields.
TAG, Jibeom, and Bomin left the group and their company. TAG is currently not signed to any agency but is still very active in composing and making songs for other artists, while Bomin is focused on acting and is signed with LOOKMEDIA Entertainment. Jibeom is currently not active as an idol, but has recently been seen on social media and performed with Joochan in Busan.
Current Golden Child members Daeyeol and Donghyun are currently free agents and have been doing fan meetings for their fans; Seungmin is currently serving in the military and is also a free agent; Jaehyun is also focused on acting and is signed with Ace Factory Entertainment. Finally, Jangjun and Joochan are still under Woollim Entertainment and are focused on their solo careers.
Despite being in different agencies and paths, all 10 members made sure to be together when they are free. Nothing beats Golden Child’s brotherhood!

About Choi Sungyun
Choi Sungyun, popularly known by his stage name Y, debuted as a member of Golden Child in 2017. He is the main vocalist of the group.
He also debuted as a musical actor in the musical Altar Boyz in 2021 and also starred in the musical Midnight Sun.
Before enlisting in the military in 2023, Sungyun debuted as a soloist with the digital single “If I Were The Wind.“
