32nd Hanteo Music Awards 2024 successfully concludes, honoring K-Pop's Legacy

Last February 16, the 32nd Hanteo Music Awards (HMA 2024) successfully wrapped up its two-day event. This grand event celebrates the history and essence of K-pop while delivering an unforgettable experience for fans worldwide.

HMA 2024 is hosted by Hanteo Global, the company behind the world’s only real-time music chart, Hanteo Chart. It took place at the Jangchung Arena in Seoul, with MCs Jinyoung and (G)I-DLE’s Miyeon hosting the show. Celebrities like Kim Jaejoong, (G)I-DLE’s Minnie, TXT‘s YEONJUN, and many more, attended to honor the best in music and performance for 2024.

Day 1 of HMA 2024

During Day 1, TXT not only took home four major awards including an award given to YEONJUN, but they impressed with world-class acts. Global Artist winner YEONJUN showcased his performance of “GGUM,” which highlighted his exceptional abilities. TXT’s performances of “Deja Vu” and “Over the Moon” showed why they were the day’s biggest winners.

Other notable performances included Lee Mujin’s powerful live rendition of “Coming of Age Story.” The emotional collaboration between legends Insooni and Kim Jaejoong on “Goose’s Dream” underscores the theme of connecting K-pop’s past, present, and future.

(G)I-DLE also received notable recognition, winning Artist of the Year and Global Generation Icon, while member Minnie claimed The Most Prime Solo, bringing her personal tally to three awards. Minnie also stuns during her performance of “HER” and “Cherry Sky.”

The event also showcased rising talent, including SAY MY NAME’s tearful acceptance speech, and performances by new groups such as ARTMS, EPEX, NOWADAYS, and tripleS.

Day 2 of HMA 2024

“This year, for the first time in K-pop award show history, we held a pre-event, the Hanteo Music Adventure Night Party, at Lotte World Adventure. Additionally, we designed the ’32nd HMA 2024′ around the concept of ‘Mutopia’ [music and utopia], where artists and fans could share a dynamic and immersive experience.”

During Day 2, RIIZE won three awards, including Artist of the Year (Bonsang), The Most Prime Group, and Best Trend Leader. They also captivated the audience with their live rendition of “Hug” and delivered a powerful “Boom Boom Bass” performance.

(G)I-DLE emerged as a standout, adding Grand Prize (Daesang) for Best Song to their list of awards. Seventeen also claimed a Grand Prize for Best Album (“Spill The Feels“), solidifying their status in 2024.

Other highlights included NCT WISH’s “Steady,” Young Tak’s “SuperSuper,” and a commanding performance by Lee Seungyoon.

The ceremony was praised for its production and venue accessibility in central Seoul. The tradition of senior musicians presenting awards to junior artists continued, reinforcing the event’s reputation as a prestigious industry celebration.
