Rise and Realize: Meet the rising boy group RIIZE
RIIZE is a 5th-generation boy group under SM Entertainment, known for its members who have both talent and visuals. RIIZE showcases a unique genre of music called “Emotional Pop,” where they aim to convey various emotions through music.
Their group name “RIIZE” stands for “RISE&REALIZE,” which signifies “growth” and “a team that grows together and realizes dreams”.
RIIZE made their debut on September 4, 2023, with the single album “Get A Guitar”.
RIIZE was named “Rookie of the Year” by the Melon Music Awards, Seoul Music Awards, and Circle Chart Music Awards.
Meet the Members
Born on November 25, 2000, Osaki Shotaro is the eldest in RIIZE. Formerly a member of NCT U, Shotaro is now the leader and dancer of RIIZE. His hobbies are watching mukbangs, dancing, and playing basketball.
Born on March 19, 2001, Song Eunseok is RIIZE’s visual. Eunseok has a black belt in taekwondo. His hobbies are watching anime, reading manga, and cooking.
Born on September 13, 2001, Jung Sungchan is a rapper in RIIZE. He is athletic and likes ice skiing and football. Formerly a member of NCT U, Sungchan was an MC of Inkigayo with IVE’s Yujin and TREASURE’s Jihoon in 2021-2022.
Born on March 2, 2002, Park Wonbin is RIIZE’s center, visual, and dancer. Wonbin can play the guitar and is a good runner who was part of a track and field team before. According to the members, he is the most playful in the group.
Born on October 2, 2003, Hong Seunghan is a dancer and vocalist of RIIZE. Seunghan can also play the guitar. He has good drawing skills and enjoys playing sports, especially basketball.
Born on November 21, 2003, Lee Sohee is the main vocalist of RIIZE. Currently, he is an MC of the Mnet music show MCountdown along with ZEROBASEONE’s Sung Hanbin and BOYNEXTDOOR’s Jaehyun.
Born on March 21, 2004, Lee Chanyoung or Anton is RIIZE’s visual and maknae. Raised in the US, Anton is the son of a well-known producer in Korea, Yoonsang, and actress Shim Hye Jin. Anton also knows how to play the cello and produce music, and is good at swimming.
Fandom
RIIZE’s fans are called BRIIZE. Announced on September 6, 2023, the fandom name holds the meaning of “BRIIZE who will help RIIZE fly and be with RIIZE anytime, anywhere”.
On April 28, 2024, RIIZE released the fan song “One Kiss,” a B-side track for their 1st mini-album “RIIZING”.
