Light Shop Keeper: Disney+’s Latest Series To Watch with Lights On

“Light Shop Keeper,” a drama that Filipino fans wouldn’t expect to air in December, is now available on Disney+! With its star-studded cast headed by Ju Ji-hoon, Park Bo-young, Kim Seol-hyun, Bae Seong-woo, and more, the series will keep its viewers on the edge of their seats!
About Light Shop Keeper
“Light Shop Keeper” is adapted from the webtoon of the same name written by the genius Kang Full, who is behind the well-received 2023 series, “Moving.” The series features the story of Jung Won-young, a man who keeps his shades on while manning his light shop in the middle of a dark alley.
As a store owner, he gets to encounter different types of people serving as his customers, browsing for different light fixtures in his shop. However, some extraordinary and unusual clients visit him randomly in the middle of the night that may turn out to be supernatural encounters.
Stuck in a time loop?
In the first few episodes, it may look like our characters are in a time loop. The first with unusual routines, such as Hyun-min (Uhm Tae-goo), getting off the bus stop late at night and meeting a strange woman at a bus stop. His curiosity in the woman may have prompted his future.
Then, we meet Hyun-ju (Shin Eun-soo), a lovely student who religiously runs a daily errand from her mother, entering a dark alley just to get a light bulb from Won-young’s light shop.
Next is Young-ji (Park Bo-young), a hardworking ICU nurse who gets an unusual experiences while working in the hospital.
Another is Seon-hae (Kim Min-ha), a screenwriter who moved into one of the villas in the dark alley who encounters strange things in her villa at night.
Lastly, Ji-woong (Kim Ki-hae), a student who passes by the dark alley and sings a song to while walking to cross the alley.
With these repetitive moves, it seems that our characters are in an unusually unique and creepy narrative with their stories waiting to be uncovered in the succeeding episodes.
Won-young, the Light Shop Keeper
Well, Ju Ji-hoon’s charisma and visuals are unrivaled. Even though he is wearing them in most scenes, his charm is irresistible! Now, we get to wonder, why is he wearing one? And why is he sensitive with some customers who are eyeing selected bulbs?
Is there a meaning as to why people can enter his light shop? Or is the shop only visible to the gifted ones? We cannot wait to find out how is he related to the other characters!
Does he have an upper hand? Especially since the first episode gives us a sneak peek *ehem spoiler alert* that he has a strange secret too!
