Celebrating 75 Years of Philippine-Korean Friendship: A November of Music, Art, and Cultural Exchange
To mark 75 years of friendship between Korea and the Philippines, the Korean Cultural Center of the Philippines presents a series of cultural events this November: Harmony at 75: A Celebration of Philippine-Korean Friendship Through Music, Maedeup, Korean Knots, and Philippines-Korea Cultural Exchange Festival 2024.


These upcoming events will showcase the strong bond between the two nations through music, traditional craftsmanship, and a lively cultural exchange. Come and enjoy events filled with rich, historical and cultural events.
Harmony at 75: A Celebration of Philippine-Korean Friendship Through Music
Embark on a unique and unforgettable musical experience with Groove& as they deliver a delicate yet powerful performance. They will be joined by two of the Philippines’ leading traditional music groups: the University of the Philippines Tugtugang Musika Asyatika (UP TUGMA) and Padayon Rondalla, who will perform classical Filipino tunes. This musical collaboration follows the success of ‘Cultural Crescendo,’ a concert that celebrated cultural exchange through music.
Catch their performance on November 15, 2024, at 5 PM, at the Leandro Locsin Auditorium, NCCA Building, Intramuros, Manila.

Maedeup, Korean Knots
Maedeup is a traditional Korean knot that was used in clothes, musical instruments, pockets, fans, scrolls, and many more. This exhibition will showcase the beauty of how this ornament is handcrafted and decorated in garments, accessories, furniture, and ceremonial items.
This event will be hosted by the National Folk Museum of Korea and run from November 22, 2024, to January 29, 2025, at The M in BGC.
A workshop will also be held on November 22 and 23 titled Traditional Korean Knot Bracelet Making where individuals aged 20 and above will learn the artistry of Madeup.

Philippines-Korea Cultural Exchange Festival 2024
Catch the return of the event that will bring together a fusion of two nations this November 23, 2024. Feel the energy and excitement once again with exciting performances and cultural contests where Koreans perform Filipino traditional acts, and Filipinos showcase Korean performances!
This event will be hosted by the United Korean Community Association in the Philippines (UKCA) at the Aliw Theater, Pasay City.
Also watch for colorful performances by S.D.G. (Show Design group), known for their Media TRON Performance which uses LED technology to create a stunning visual display.

On-going KCC Philippines exhibit: Reinterpreting Hangeul in the Modern Era
This ongoing exhibit at the Korean Cultural Center of the Philippines, hosted by the National Hangeul Museum of Korea, includes a monthly “Hangeul Calligraphy Workshop” that complements the showcase. Both the display and the workshop will be available until February 2025.
November is a month to remember for both Koreans and Filipinos! Let’s come together to celebrate 75 years of friendship between two nations while strengthening cultural bonds and fostering mutual appreciation.
