Jang Ki Yong spends a “Beautiful Day” with Filipino fans in his 2024 Manila fan meeting
Korean actor Jang Ki Yong from “My Roommate is a Gumiho,” “Now, We’re Breaking Up,” and “The Atypical Family” has returned to the Philippines for his “Beautiful Day” Asia tour stop in Manila! Jang Ki Yong first met his Filipino fans during his “Filmography” fan meeting last 2019.
With both events held at the same venue – the Samsung Hall in SM Aura, Jang Ki Yong brought back and reminisced about precious moments with fans while also creating new memories for everyone.
As Jang Ki Yong entered the venue, it was already evident how happy he was to see his Filipino fans again, taking his time to walk towards the stage and gazing upon the audience lovingly. He opened the show with a cover of “Thought of You” by John Park, serenading the fans with his angelic voice.
“Kamusta kayo? Nice to meet you. I’m Jang Ki Yong. I love the Philippines, wow!” he greeted enthusiastically.
Starting with the “Beautiful Diary” segment, the audience got a chance to look back on significant events in Jang Ki Yong’s life while the actor shared anecdotes about it.
Some of the events shown were Jang Ki Yong’s military enlistment in 2021, his previous drama “Now, We Are Breaking Up,” his first summer vacation in 2022, his 1st musical “A Song of Meissa,” his Hawaii trip this year, and some behind-the-scenes photos during “The Atypical Family” filming.
When the time to talk about “My Roommate is a Gumiho” came, Jang Ki Yong was asked about his favorite scene and he heard a lot of the fans saying “kissing scene”. He found it funny at first then agreed that it was memorable.
In the “Beautiful Wishes” segment, Jang Ki Yong granted requests for everyone such as recording a morning call, where he said “Bebe, gising na,” doing a dance challenge with NCT 127’s “WALK,” and making 5 sets of hearts for fans.
On top of that, he even surprised everyone with an initiative where he would upgrade his ‘Hi-Bye’ fan benefit with a ‘Hi-Touch’ segment at the end of the fan meeting in exchange for winning 3 games with fans such as stacking chairs, group jumping rope, and the traditional Sipa.
Along with wholesome interactions on stage, Jang Ki Yong did his best and even went beyond to ensure their success so he could make the ‘Hi-Touch’ possible for everyone.
Meanwhile, his Filipino fans also presented him with a gift in the form of a video project and hand banners containing the message “Our dream is to see you and be with you, and today, our dream has come true! Let’s have a ‘Beautiful Day’ together! Mahal na mahal ka namin, Jang Ki Yong!” They also gave him a themed cake, aligned with Jang Ki Yong’s interest in UFC.
Throughout the fan meeting, Jang Ki Yong’s hard work and sincerity shined through in the performances he prepared and his genuine bonding time with fans.
Jang Ki Yong concluded the fan meeting by singing his very own OST from “Come and Hug Me” entitled “Paradise Tree”. The fans showed their support by turning on their flashlights and creating a beautiful view for him.
“Always be healthy, eat well, and exercise regularly. Let’s meet again with smiling faces next time,” Jang Ki Yong said in his ending message, gesturing a pinky promise.
