Last April 30, MAMAMOO’s Solar released her 2nd mini-album “COLOURS.” This marks her solo comeback after 2 years and 1 month since her 1st mini-album “容: FACE” was released in March 2022.

The title song “But I” is a mix of R&B and rock genres, with a highly addictive song composition, that shifts between melancholy and excitement. Solar was directly involved in writing the lyrics, expressing the emotions of taking revenge on those who’ve hurt someone.

The music video was filmed in Mongolia, and Solar turns into a rock band vocalist. It is anticipated that her different singing style will add to the fun of watching the immense scale of visual aesthetic. With a cinematic approach, scenes like playing the piano in a wide desert and riding a white horse were featured in the MV.

Through this comeback, Solar presents 6 genres like house, rock, pop ballad, R&B, folk, and blues all in 1 album. It also shows Solar’s own color as a musician.

Overall, her mini-album includes diverse tracks such as: “Colors” that sends the message that everyone should be respected, “Empty” that’s about overcoming loneliness, “Honey Honey” that provides a sweet atmosphere with the topic of love, “Easy Peasy” that gives a soothing comfort, and “Blues” that conveys feelings of solitude.

The “COLOURS” album is available in two versions, the Palette ver. and the Nemo ver. with two types.
