ENHYPEN leaps for joy as they ‘get together with Filipino fans’ through BYS Cosmetics PH

The group hopes to have more opportunities to meet ENGENEs in 2023.

South Korean boy group ENHYPEN did not contain their happiness and felt elated seeing the warm welcome of ENGENEs, their fans, on their first visit to the Philippines.

ENHYPEN had their first-time visit to the Philippines on Saturday, December 3, for their “fun meet” with BYS Cosmetics PH at the Araneta Coliseum.

October this year, BYS Cosmetics PH announced that the seven-piece group is the brand’s new face, stating the group as a “K-Pop group that is never afraid to play any role they wanna play.”

Before their “fun meet,” ENHYPEN—composed of Heeseung, Jake, Jay, Jungwon, Ni-Ki, Sunghoon, and Sunoo—were very dashing to meet the media and press for their press conference at Marco Polo Hotel in Ortigas, Pasig City.

On the group’s massive success, inspiration

ENHYPEN was formed through I-LAND, a South Korean survival reality show, in 2020. And now, they are one of the hottest and most massive acts of 4th generation.

The group said they have always been thankful for their fans, from their reality show days until now, for being with them as they go this far:

“What propelled us to come this far is, of course, our ENGENEs,” leader Jungwon stated. “We will do our best to get more shares from our ENGENEs.”

Two years since their debut, they also mentioned notable changes and developments they have seen in themselves. From their music styles to dance skills (and even their height and visuals, they said), member Sunghoon agreed they became better.

“Music-wise and choreography-wise, we are actually developing. And I think the tour develops us as well…that would be able to improve our skills,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Jungwon expressed being thankful that despite being formed in a reality show and having different ways of singing and dancing, their stage presence of being one as a group remains their biggest strength.

He said, “When we go up on stage, we get together, and we become one, in union. And I think that’s one strongest strength that we have as a group.”

Exploring new styles and sides

Jay asserted the importance of exploring other music styles to give their fans the best.

“What we do is that try other genres so that fans can discover new sides of ourselves, and we can also be appreciated by our fans as well. So I think it is an assignment for us to explore our different sounds and styles, and to keep on trying and exploring for it,” he explained.

The group said they are very open to trying other genres: “[I]f there’s any opportunity, we would like to try other genres too because that is one strong point of ENHYPEN.”

BTS as their ultimate musical influence

Sunoo revealed that BTS had influenced them in terms of their music and performance: “The biggest musical influence that I could say is BTS. And of course, as a group, we will be doing our best, exerting more effort to have such influence and such good musical performance or things that we can show to the audience.”
