Get ready with the most anticipated debut of Refund Sisters’ this October!

After the successful SSAK3 (Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Hyo Ri & Rain) project, the popular Korean variety show Hangout with Yoo/How Do You Play has started another project group.

Hangout with Yoo/How Do You Play is a reality show aired in MBC since 2019 and this show is hosted by South Korea’s famous host Yoo Jae Suk.

This time, the show involves the fiercest, boldest and formidable Korean female icons in history.

Let’s get to know this new group so you can catch up before they debut!

How the group was formed

Hyori mentioned on the show Hangout with Yoo during their SSAK3 days that she wanted to gather a few girls and form a girl group. She named Uhm Junghwa, Jessi and Hwasa.

The girls then responded positively to her suggestion and agreed to come together and discuss the said girl group project.

The story behind the group name- Refund Sisters

They were named as such because their image as strong powerful women would definitely have no problem in getting refunds from their purchases.

The Members

Uhm Jung Hwa, Stage Name: MAN OK

Man Ok was born on August 17, 1969 making her the oldest of the group. But that doesn’t mean she can’t keep up with them!

Uhm Jung Hwa is considered to be one of the most influential women in the entertainment industry as she definitely rocked the 90’s with her music and unique style. Yep, she’s a poison!

Lee Hyo Ri, Stage Name: Cheon Ok

Cheon Ok was born on May 10, 1979. She debuted as a member and leader of South Korean girl group Fin.K.L, and became a solo artist after.

Lee Hyo Ri is one of the few artists to ever win a Daesang (Grand Prize) EVERY DECADE. She won one in 90’s, 00’s, 10’s and the recent one just this 2020. THE POWER! We wanna talk about her, Linda Linda good girl!

Jessi, Stage Name: Eun Bi

Eun Bi was born on December 17, 1988. A Korean-American rapper, singer and songwriter born in NY, based in South Korea.

Jessi learned more Korean words on the show so she could keep up with the gang! That’s why she’s the nuna! Eun Bi, come on!

Hwasa, Stage Name: Sil Bi

Sil Bi was born on July 23, 1995 making her the maknae of the group. She debuted as the member and lead vocalist of the South Korean girl group Mamamoo! I say Mama, Mamamoooo~

She’s not intimidated by the other three despite being the youngest of the group. There’s no signs of backing down! That’s Maria!

The Producer

Yoo Jae Suk, Stage Name: Jimi Yu

The CEO of Original Entertainment. He always wears golden accessories on his hands.

Everything about him is a mystery including his hometown and age. And he said he’s from Harvard…. it’s up to us to think if he graduated there or not.

This suspicious CEO laid eyes on Refund Sisters and made them sign a contract under Original Entertainment.

He recently hired two managers that will help him through the journey.

Jung Jae Hyung, Stage Name: Jung Bong Won

These two passed Jimi’s job interview!

But one can only focus on one thing at a time, the other doesn’t even know how to drive. How will they handle the girls?

People would think that their strong personalities would clash but they’re really soft for each other and hung out until midnight at Man Ok’s place!

With Jessi still charting with her song “Nunu Nana”, Hwasa still charting with “Maria”, Hyori still charting with SSAK3 songs, and Jung Hwa being an icon herself, this will definitely make a historic mark on KPOP.

Refund Sisters will be working with composer Rado from Black Eyed Pilseung for their debut track called “Don’t Touch Me”.

The song is set to release on October 10, marking the group’s most anticipated debut!
