ICYMI:Song Kang and Lee Do Hyun confirmed to star in Netflix adaptation of thriller webtoon “Sweet Home”

Song Kang and Lee Do Hyun are confirmed to star in the upcoming Netflix series adaptation of webtoon, “Sweet Home.”

From the director of God tier K-dramas “Mr. Sunshine,” “Goblin” and “Descendants of the Sun,” the Netflix adaptation of “Sweet Home” will also be directed by Mr. Lee Eung Bok.

“Sweet Home” is a horror-thriller webtoon written by Carnby Kim and illustrated by Hwang Youngchan, also popular from their hit work “Bastard.”

Song Kang as Hyun Soo

Song Kang will play the role of Hyun Cha (protagonist), an isolated and lonely teenager who is left alone when his family dies in an accident. He has a history of self-harm due to excessive bullying and threats that he receives from his schoolmates.

Meanwhile, Lee Do Hyun was offered the role of Hyuk Lee, a carefree but smart guy with the same age as Hyun Soo. With the code name “crewcrew,” he was able to maintain talking to Hyun Soo through the internet.

Park Gyu Young as Ji Su

Park Gyu Young will portray the role of Ji Su, a 20-year old woman who is a tenant of Room 1510 in Green Home apartments. She is a band member who usually annoys her neighbors whenever she is practicing instruments.

In addition to the cast members are Lee Jin Wook, Go Min-si and Lee Si Young.

“Sweet Home” revolves around the story of Hyun Soo as he face life when he was left all experiencing monster invasion, externally and internally. This webtoon contains personal harm, suicide and violence that are not suitable of viewers in specific ages. (Source here.)

Song Kang developed his fame as he was previously a cast of “Love Alarm” while Lee Do Hyun captivated the viewers’ hearts in “Hotel del Luna.
