“Tempest” starring Jun Ji Hyun and Gang Dong Won is coming to Disney+ this September!

New adrenaline-fueled spy thriller series is coming to Disney+ next month!

Tempest tells the story of a skilled former diplomat and a former UN ambassador named Seo Mun Ju who tries to uncover the truth behind an attempt on a presidential candidate’s life. She discovers that the candidate was accused of being a North Korean spy, and as she digs into his past, she will find out shocking state secrets and more.

Protected by Paik San Ho, an international special agent, Mun Ju constantly finds herself under attack as she discovers an international conspiracy that threatens the future stability of the Korean peninsula. But, with danger drawing ever closer, will San Ho be able to keep his principal safe and his emotions in check?

Starring a star-studded cast, Lee Mi Sook as Jang Jun Ik’s mother, Lim Okseon, and Park Hae Joon as presidential candidate Jang Jun Ik. Including American actor, John Cho (Star Trek) who will star as Assistant Secretary of State Anderson and Hollywood actors, Christopher Gorham (The Lincoln LawyerUgly Betty) as Ethan, a mercenary, Michael Gaston (Daredevil: Born AgainBridge of Spies) as Secretary of Defense Eagleton, Spencer Garrett (Once Upon a Time…In Hollywood) as President Hauser.

Tempest is helmed by Director Kim Hee Won, who recently worked on the hit rom-com series, Queen of Tears. He is also the man behind the dramas Little Women and Vincenzo.

It is co-directed by Korea’s leading martial arts director, Heo Myung Haeng, who previously worked on The Outlaws 4. It is written by writer Jung Seo Kyoung, the woman behind the film The Handmaiden and the series Little Women. The series is produced by Imaginus in association with Showrunners, AA, and Skydance.

Catch Tempest on September 10 only on Disney+ with the first three episodes, followed by two episodes per week until the two-part finale on October 1.
