KAI successfully wraps up his first-ever sold-out solo concert, “KAION” in Manila!
Mr. Rover has finally come over to Manila to meet PH EXO-Ls again after 6 years!
Since “EXO Planet #5 – EXplOration in Manila” happened in 2019, EXO-Ls have been eagerly waiting for their precious KAI to meet them again. The stars aligned for them as KAI returned to Manila for his first-ever “KAION” solo concert, which was held on July 27 at the Big Dome. The rain doesn’t stop them from coming, filling up the venue and made a sold-out show for KAI.
A beautiful silver ocean once again lights up the venue with loud cheers as KAI kicked off the show with his song, Sinner, followed by Mmmh, and Nothing on Me. “What’s Up Manila,” KAI shouted. “Hello po, I’m KAI. Nice to meet you guys!” he greeted and welcomed everyone to his show. He said he really missed Filipino EXO-Ls so much and expressed how happy he was to finally meet them, “Masaya Ako,” he said, and was so amazed at how energetic the crowd was during his first three performances.
KAI further explained the deep meaning behind the title, “KAION” on this show. According to him, it is a combination of the word KAI and On, the Greek word “Aion,” which means eternity. KAION basically means the stage that marks the beginning of eternity. He confidently remarked that after seeing his performances, everyone will agree that they will forever be with KAI.
His performances are a testament to how talented he is and show off the reason why he is the main dancer, the dancing machine of his group. He stole everyone’s hearts again with his powerful performances and charm on stage. He is a total performer!
KAI became sentimental when he shared that he saw the photo of himself with other EXO members backstage when they held their 2-day concert, “EXO Planet #3 – The EXO’rDIUM in Manila” in 2017. He said he looked like a baby back then, “Now, I’m not a baby anymore, (while flexing his biceps), you guys are my babies,” and everyone went wild hearing him say that.
Moreover, one of the highlights of the show was when KAI showed off his on-point dance moves dancing along to the rhythm of EXO’s My Lady, Baby, Don’t Cry, and Angel. These performances were so beautiful and memorable. EXO-Ls were singing while KAI was dancing. KAI said it was a significant stage in his solo concert, and he thanked everyone for singing along.
KAI said every time he does concerts, he always feels the happiness, the energy, and love from the fans, and always thinks about how he will be able to pay it back to everyone. He said in the beginning, he didn’t understand what kind of love this is and wasn’t able to see the big love that he was receiving. As time passed, he realized how amazing this great love is. He is grateful to EXO-Ls because the love and memories with them make him become a better KAI and a better artist. How touching it was to hear this heartwarming message from him.
“Thank you so much for waiting for me and to continue cheering for me. I promise to be back with a better self. The next time we see one another again, it could be KAI’s concert or EXO’s concert. I don’t know which one will come first, but promise me that we will see one another again.”
As KAI delivered his final message, he said that he hopes that the time he spent with EXO-Ls that night will forever be engraved in their minds. He said that he’s really happy and he will never forget PH EXO-L’s energy. He also thanked the fans for all the fan events they have prepared. He said he will never beat EXO-Ls’ love for him, and next time, he will prepare more. “I felt all of your love amazingly in this show tonight, with your love and cheers, I think I can end all my other stops amazingly as well.”
Throughout the night, KAI performed 23 songs, including, Hello Stranger, Slidin’, Ride or Die, Come In, Vanilla, Peaches, Adult Swim, Wait on Me, Pressure, Walls Don’t Talk, Bomba, Confession, Domino, Reason, Rover, and Blue. He ended the show with his encore song, To Be Honest.
EXO-Ls shouted in chorus, “We Are One.” KAI responded, “We Are One, Saranghaja!” It was such a precious moment for everyone.
That day was my birthday, and KAI made it extra special. I was happy to witness his jaw-dropping and electrifying performances. Thank you, Nini, for the exceptional performances during the show and for giving your best in everything you do. PH EXO-Ls are so proud of you and love you always.
