Song Joong Ki successfully made his first live appearance in Manila at his “IAM SONG JOONG KI” fan meeting!
After waiting for a very long time, it was a dream come true for every PH Ki Aile to finally meet their cherished star, Song Joong Ki, in the flesh!
Mall of Asia Arena was filled with ecstatic Ki Ailes as their beloved star, Song Joong Ki, successfully made his first live appearance in Manila and created wonderful memories with him at his “IAM SONG JOONG KI: LIVE IN MANILA” fan meeting last May 24.
As the star of the night stepped onto the stage, the crowd warmly welcomed him with their loudest cheers. Song Joong Ki’s reaction was so precious. He was surprised to see the big crowd showing their passionate love for him. “Wow! Hello everyone,” he said while waving and smiling at everyone.
“Salamat, Manila,” he expressed his gratitude to all those who came to the event and also to IAM Worldwide for bringing him to Manila for the first time.
He shared that he has friends in Italy, and said that Filipinos are very cool, that’s why he really wanted to come here to meet his Filipino Ki Ailes. He said he didn’t expect that big crowd was waiting for him while he was backstage.
Joong Ki also expressed his appreciation to the Filipino singers Sam Concepcion, Lara Maigue, and Kayla Rivera for singing OSTs of his series, including the OSTs from his hit drama, Vincenzo, during the opening act. He said he was delighted listening to that and took a video of it and sent it to his co-stars, and they are really thankful for that.
When talking about Vincenzo, he shared that he had memorable scenes there, including the fire at the winery in the first episode and the final episode where Cha Young and Vincenzo kissed.
Moreover, one of the highlights of the event was his memorable and fun interaction with his fans in playing games. It is not complete without him speaking Tagalog such as, masarap, mahal kita, mahal ko kayo, mahal na mahal kita, kalapati, apoy, gusali, kalma lang, ginto, sumakses, dahan-dahan, and mabuhay. He said, tagalog words are so beautiful that makes him want to study Tagalog as well.
Joong Ki has an upcoming drama, My Youth, where he plays the role of a florist. He showed his flower arrangement skills at the fan meeting and gave it to the one lucky fan. Sana all!
One of the touching moments was when the fans prepared a video message and banner for him. Joong Ki appreciated it so much. After watching it, he said he was grateful for all the love and support and said that he should come back to the Philippines.
Rocco Nacino also attended the fan meeting. He was one of those who gave messages to Joong Ki. He played Diego (Seo Dae Young a.k.a wolf in the Korean version) in the Philippine adaptation of Descendants of the Sun. They first met last year at the BIFF in Busan, and Joong Ki remembered him and said hi to him. It was such an adorable interaction between them.
In his last message, he said, “Thank you for the unforgettable memory tonight. Sadly, my stay here in Manila is very short, but next time, I will make sure that I will come back. Thank you so much.” He shouted Salamat po! While waving goodbye to everyone. What a night to remember!
I got teary-eyed when I heard that part of the proceeds of the event would be donated to the Philippine Animal Welfare Society to help 200 animals at the shelter. Joong Ki has such a good heart.
We would like to thank IAM Worldwide and Publicity Asia for making this event possible. We are so happy to finally meet Song Joong Ki in the flesh. We are so happy and had so much fun. We will cherish these wonderful memories with him forever.
