PH HIYLIYs fall “IN LOVE” again with Hwang In Youp at his fan meeting in Manila!
When Hwang In Youp said, “I’ll be back” in 2022, he really meant it!
On January 25, Hwang In Youp and PH HIYLIYs reunite at his “IN LOVE” fan meeting in Manila held at the New Frontier Theater. It’s been 2 years and 4 months since we last saw him in the flesh and we are so happy to finally reunite again with him through this memorable event.
The fans were so ecstatic when the star of the night, Hwang In Youp, entered the stage, serenading everyone with Alex Chu’s Flowerpot. PH HIYLIYs warmly welcomed him with loud cheers.
“Kumusta po kayo? Ako si Hwang In Youp,” he greeted the crowd. He said the Philippines is like his second home, so he’s very happy reuniting with his Filipino fans. He shared that when he first landed in the Philippines, his first meal was Jollibee, and he also reminisced about his favorite foods when he was in Davao which was lechon, sinigang, and halo-halo. It brings so much nostalgia for him eating with his friends in Davao.
Family By Choice
We got swooned with Hwang In Youp’s charm playing the role of Kim San Ha in the series, Family By Choice. In the segment called “Falling In Love: Family by Choice,” we had the chance to delve deeper into some of the heart-fluttering scenes from the drama that made our hearts skip a beat.
One of the clips shown is the scene where San Ha and Ju Won kiss for the first time. In Youp shared that this is his first kissing scene with his female lead. Since this is his first, he discussed this with the director a lot on how he would do it beautifully because it was San Ha’s moment to express his love towards Ju Won and also with Jung Chae Yeon, his female lead since she also don’t have enough experience with this kind of scene.
On the other hand, we also learned more about the noodle scene in episode 14. He said that this scene was his idea because he wanted to make this scene more entertaining for the viewers. He doesn’t expect the viewer’s reaction as they were so kilig watching this scene because this was supposed to be a comedic scene.
Precious Interactions with PH HIYLIYs
This fan meeting is not complete without the precious interaction of Hwang In Youp and lucky PH HIYLIYs who got the chance to reenact some of the scenes in Family By Choice. They also played games with him, and because the fans won the games, everyone got the chance not only to see him in the hi-bye session but to shake his hand in a hi-touch session. (He is so generous and sweet towards his fans, and this is the reason why we love him so much.)
Hwang In Youp gamely accepted challenges from the fans. He danced his iconic Okey Dokey dance, did the Igloo Challenge, and performed a short cover for ATEEZ’s Ice On My Teeth (exclusively for PH HIYLIYs). He is such a cutie! He does everything for his fans.
Heartfelt Message
Hwang In Youp said that he was very happy that he got the chance to come back here to the Philippines, and every time he comes back here, he feels like this country is his second home. He said he prepared a lot for his new project to show a new side of him and hopes that everyone gives them a lot of love and support. He thanked PH HIYLIYs for their warm support and cheers. He said he had a lot of fun and he will never forget this night with his fans. “Mahal kita, I was really happy today. We’ll meet again next time. I hope that everyone here tonight will come next time as well. I hope you all are always healthy and a lot of good things will happen to you. You guys are very beautiful and cool.”
He gave a hint for his next role and said it will be sexier, so we should look forward to that PH HIYLIYs!
Throughout the show Hwang In Youp performed Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love For You, V’s Slow Dancing, and ended the show with the song, Starlight, one of the beautiful OSTs of his drama, True Beauty.
One of the highlights of the event was when he once again surprised everyone by going down just to see his fans closer. He was walking, smiling while waving his hands to each one of us. He never fails to make us fall in love with him even more.
Moreover, to show their love for Hwang In Youp, PH HIYLIYs prepared a video message, a photo booth section, and a hand banner for him that he very much appreciated.
