2024 Wrapped: Spotify Unveils K-Pop Artists and Songs That Dominated This Year!

Spotify Wrapped season is finally here!

The world’s most popular audio streaming platform unveiled its 2024 Wrapped campaign, highlighting fans, artists, and creators who defined this record-breaking and culture-shaping year.

We were introduced to new artists, unexpected collaborations, and tracks that have been on our Spotify playlist throughout the year.

For this year, Spotify has put in the spotlight to the ever-growing and unstoppable world of K-Pop that has captured millions of fans and listeners globally.

ARMYs, you’ve done a great job! BTS clinched the top artist for this year. The group’s members joined the list individually with Jung Kook as second and Jimin as fourth, as part of the five most streamed artists. They are joined by Stray Kids, ranked third, and NewJeans in fifth place.

Jimin’s “Who? “clinched the most played song, joining Spotify’s BILLIONS club early this year after staying on the top of the charts for a long time. He is followed by fellow members, Jung Kook with “Seven (feat. Latto)” as No. 2 and “Standing Right Next To You” as No. 3, and V with his R&B track, “Love Me Again,” for No. 4. Rookie group ILLIT makes their mark with their irresistible “Magnetic” at No. 5.

Record-breaking Billions of Streams, Breakout Artists, and Collaboration Surprises

Jung Kook had a fantastic billionaire year with his hit “Seven” hitting two billion streams this year; his latest hit “Standing Right Next To You” became his second single to earn a billion streams. Fellow member Jimin’s “Like Crazy,” which is ranked No. 8 on the Global Top K-Pop Songs of the Year, also entered the BILLIONS club.

New talents were on the rise this year; alongside “Magnetic” by ILLIT, “SHEESH” by Radar Korea artist BABYMONSTER earned a spot of No. 15 on the Global Top K-Pop Songs of the Year. There has been a rise in the K-Indie world as wave to earth also joins the Global Top K-Pop Artist of the Year at No. 17.

For collaborations, ROSE’s “APT. (feat. Bruno Mars)” surprised everyone and clinched No. 6 on the Global Top K-Pop Songs of the Year. LISA joins the list at No. 16 with her powerful and upbeat anthem, “New Women (feat. ROSALIA).”

Spotify Korea’s Head of Music Jungjoo Park highlighted that for every K-Pop milestone and chart-topping hit, behind it are dedicated and passionate fandoms who show up to support the artist they love. Be it a breakthrough artist trying to find their footing in the industry or the established ones who continue to exceed their expectations, it helps them create new moments in the ever-growing K-Pop genre.
