Getting to Know PEBACA: Fun Facts About GMMTV’s Boys’ Love OGs

KristSingto, OffGun, and TayNew–collectively known as PEBACA–are coming back to reunite with their Filipino fans as they bring their ‘PEBACA WHAT A CONCERT’ to Manila on November 22. Fans can expect fun performances, laughter, palpable chemistry, and just six friends enjoying each other’s company on stage.

Before we meet the OGs for a memorable night, let’s first get to know Krist, Singto, Off, Gun, Tay, and New with some fun facts about them!

1. PEBACA is GMMTV’s BL ‘Holy Trinity’

Today, GMMTV is best known for producing BL series that have amassed millions of views and fans from around the world. The company is to thank for numerous popular BL couples, including BrightWin, ForceBook, PondPhuwin, JimmySea, EarthMix, and GeminiFourth, and popular BL shows like 2gether, Bad Buddy, A Tale of Thousand Stars, Vice Versa, and Perfect 10 Liners.

But before all that, KristSingto, OffGun, and TayNew were the company’s pioneering BL couples, helping the Thai BL industry reach new heights, and earning them a collective title as GMMTV’s BL ‘Holy Trinity’.

2. KristSingto, OffGun, and TayNew are three of Thailand’s longest-running BL couples

They’re not known as ‘BL royals’ for nothing. Aside from being GMMTV’s longest-running BL couples, they are also three of Thailand’s longest-running BL couples. All three pairs debuted as BL couples in 2016. With all three still active as on-screen partners until now, this makes them three of the country’s longest-running BL couples, who, dare I say, helped pioneer the Thai BL industry.

3. ‘Sotus’ starring KristSingto is GMMTV’s first BL-centered show

‘Sotus’ starring Krist and Singto was released in 2016, and is GMMTV’s first BL-centered series. While there were other GMMTV shows that featured BL couples, they were side couples. ‘Sotus’ marks the company’s first series featuring a BL couple as the leads, allowing GMMTV to find its footing in the Thai entertainment industry.

Its second season, ‘Sotus S’, was later released in 2017, with Krist and Singto reprising their roles.

4. TayNew is GMMTV’s longest-running BL couple

While KristSingto starred in GMMTV’s first BL-centered show, TayNew is technically GMMTV’s longest-running BL couple.

All of PEBACA’s first shows as on-screen couples were released in 2016. But TayNew’s series, ‘Kiss’, where they played as the side couple PeteKao, was released in January 2016.

OffGun starred as the side BL couple PickRome in the series ‘Senior Secret Love: Puppy Honey’, which was released in March 2016.

And finally, KristSingto starred as KongArthit in the series ‘Sotus’, released in August 2016.

5. OffGun has appeared in the most BL shows together out of the three couples

OffGun has shown loyalty and dedication to each other and to their devoted fans by consistently collaborating as on-screen partners in 8 shows as a couple–that’s almost one every year since they were established as a BL couple in 2016!

To compare, TayNew has 6 BL shows under their belt, and KristSingto starred in 4 together.

6. KristSingto, OffGun, and TayNew are GMMTV’s multi-season BL couples

All of KristSingto, OffGun, and TayNew starred in multi-seasonal BL shows of their own, giving life to beloved characters multiple times.

7. Krist, Singto, Gun, Tay, and New have each starred in other BL projects with different on-screen partners

Despite being permanent BL pairs, all of them, except for Off, have starred in other BL projects with different on-screen partners.

8. All six actors starred in the show ‘I’m Tee, Me Too’

In 2020, Krist, Singto, Off, Gun, Tay, and New starred in the show called ‘I’m Tee, Me Too’.

It tells the story of 6 guys–all named Tee and each with a peculiarity. They all reside under one roof and navigate their daily lives, all while learning about themselves and each other. The show focuses on the unique friendship between 6 very different people, and for fans who have come to love PEBACA’s real-life friendship, it’s sure to be a delight to watch how that translates on-screen as well.

While KristSingto, OffGun, and TayNew have all separately met Filipino fans in their respective fanmeets here, this would mark the first time that they will come as one as GMMTV’s BL ‘Holy Trinity.
