Celebrating 75 years of Korea-Philippines friendship: The 2024 Korean Film Festival “Chingu Kita!”

Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines is proud to present the 2024 Korean Film Festival (KFF) in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the friendship between Korea and the Philippines. This year’s event, titled “Chingu Kita!” meaning “You are my friend,” will take place from September 27 to 29, 2024, with screenings held across the country at SM Mall of Asia, SM City Baguio, SM Seaside City Cebu, and SM City Davao.

The lineup includes five thought-provoking and touching films that each offer a unique perspective on the bonds of friendship, trust, and love:

Inseparable Bros (2019): A deeply emotional portrayal of the bond between two brothers that will surely resonate with all viewers.

Smugglers (2023): The winner of the 44th Blue Dragon Film Awards’ Best Film, this action-packed story of trust and survival is sure to leave audiences on the edge of their seats.

Love Reset (2023): A heartwarming comedy that redefines love and companionship, it’s a film that will tug at your heartstrings.

Picnic (2024): A short film that takes audiences on an adventurous journey of childhood friendship.

Our Season (2023): A moving narrative about the strong ties between friendship and family.

And guess what? All screenings are FREE to the public, making the festival accessible to film enthusiasts, families, and anyone eager to explore the beauty of Korean cinema.

In addition, this year, the festival expands its offerings with the “Meet the Chingus!” event, where attendees can engage with prominent figures in the Korean film industry. Two special guests will take part: Ms. Lee Yun Kyung, Director of Contents Research Bureau, Korea Culture & Tourism Institute, will share her expertise on the Korean film industry and Mr. Son Seung-Hyun, CEO of West World, a renowned visual effects company known for projects like Queen of Tears (2024), Smugglers (2023), and Extraordinary Attorney Woo (2022), will provide insights into the world of visual effects and filmmaking.
