She said she became a stronger person while she was shooting the drama. “It was a miraculous project,” she pointed out.
When she was cast in this series, she cried because she was happy and she is a big fan of Kim Eun Sook who is also the writer of her previous work, The Heirs. “I heard she was casting actors for the drama, but I didn’t expect it would be me. She (writer Kim Eun Sook) called me to work together. I remember I just kept crying on the phone all day.” She said during her guesting on the show, Night Goblin. She received 5 awards for playing the role of Yoon Myung Joo.
First Leading Role

Kim Ji Won landed her first leading role in the romantic comedy series, Fight for My Way in 2017. She showcased her great acting skills in portraying the role of Choi Ae Ra showing her cute and bubbly side. She received 3 awards for her role in this series.
Her Fear of Water

In her interview with Esquire Korea in 2021, Ji Won mentioned that at first, she could not swim since she was afraid of water but her role in Lovestruck in the City helped her overcome her fear. In preparation for her surfing scenes, she said, “At first, I learned how to swim but it felt scary anyway even if I had prepared for it. What I felt while preparing for the scene was that rather than preparing a lot in advance, it would be better to run towards my fear, so I dived straight into the sea and that helped me overcome my fear.”

Kim Ji Won prepared and put a lot of effort and hard work into her drama, Queen of Tears. She shared on Salon Drip 2 that she lost weight in preparation for his role as Hong Hae In in this series since she had to wear a lot of outfits and a lot of external things she had to demonstrate and was very thoughtful for one year.
