Black Cap Pictures revealed its lineup of August films that will open exclusively at SM Cinemas The Roundup: Punishment and Real Life Fiction on August 14 and 28, respectively.

About “The Roundup: Punishment”

The Roundup: Punishment is the fourth installment of Roundup, an action-comedy film that timely touches on the controversies of online gambling, locally known as POGOs (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators) as Ma Seok Do aka monster cop and his ragtag crew continue to chase one of Korea’s dangerous criminals Baek Chang Gi who now operates an online gambling business in the Philippines.
Starring Korean American actor Don Lee as Ma Seok Do, a monster cop who is known for his strong punches. Don Lee is remarkable for his role in the global box-office hit Train to Busan. Don Lee is also known for his impeccable portrayals of his roles in Marvel’s Eternals, South Korea’s The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil, Unstoppable, and Badland Hunters among others.

Alongside Don Lee, the film also features star-studded notable actors namely, Kim Mu Yeol (Sweet Home) as Baek Chang Gi, Lee Joo Bin (Queen of Tears) as Detective Han Ji Soo, Park Ji Hwan (Gyeongsong Creature) as Jang Yi Soo and Lee Dong Hwi (Chief Detective 1958) as the IT genius, Chang Dong Cheol.
Moreover, some scenes were filmed in various cities of the Philippines such as Angeles and Tarlac City. It also features jeepneys where Ma Seok Do’s team rode. Jang Yi Soo is also disguised as a local who can also communicate in Filipino.

Hailed as Korea’s no. 1 action sequel, The Roundup: Punishment has dominated the Korean box office for four consecutive weeks with a cumulative total of $75 million since it opened and is now the fastest Korean film to surpass 11 million moviegoers in just 33 days.
The sequel becomes South Korea’s 2nd biggest 2024 film to date and the most-loved action film in Korea because of its unique thrilling and comical scenes and its powerhouse cast.
About “Real Life Fiction”

Real Life Fiction is a Philippine-produced English language film that depicts an intense psychological drama on the life of a famous actor Paco who must come to terms with what’s real and not after years of being one of the highly celebrated actors of his time.
It features versatile actors, Piolo Pascual, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, and Epy Quizon with the special participation of Lav Diaz. Real Life Fiction was filmed at the height of the pandemic, penned and helmed by Paul Soriano.
